These parts may also be known for ghost towns such as Oatman. The 10-mile walk to the beautiful Havasu Falls is a popular hike. There are plenty of activities to do and many recreation areas, including Lake Powell and Glen Canyon. Antelope Canyon, situated in Glen Canyon, are bands of sandstone curving sometimes just a couple feet apart, in this famously deep "slot" canyon. On summer weekends, Lake Powell is a busy but popular spot to have water skiers, powerboats, houseboat parties, jet skis, and catamarans explore its sandstone side canyons.
Yet another great spot to visit is Flagstaff. Nestling among the pine forests of Northern Arizona's San Francisco Bay Area Peaks, Flagstaff is one of many regions most beautiful towns. Flagstaff is a exciting, peaceful place with a great selection of bars and restaurants one of the labyrinth of old red brick buildings that produce its compact downtowns. Flagstaff also offers one of the greatest and most widely used universities, Northern Arizona University (NAU). There also several good hiking and ski-ing areas along with loads of exciting ghost towns and museums.
Sedona, started in 1902 by Theodore Schnelby, was named after his wife. There has been a few "vortexes" found in Sedona producing spiritual power in and for this beautiful town. New Agers' allow us Sedona as a spiritual, creative, wonderful, and outside driven resort town. To-day, artists of all kinds sell their works in a growing number of galleries, including these in Tlaquepaque, a village of artists, craftspeople, and imaginative shops.
Arizona's second-largest city, Tucson has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and a variety of interesting attractions to entertain the increasing number of visitors it receives annually. Town is located on the Northern boundary of the Sonoran Desert in Southern Arizona, in a basin surrounded by five mountain ranges. Tucson's important art galleries and museums are surrounded around The University of Arizona, two central parts and the downtown area.
