Our 175,000 members in 119 countries are professional educators from all levels and subject areas--superintendents, supervisors, principals, teachers, professors of education, and school board members.

May 29, 2014 As a doctoral researcher in the field of emerging literacies, I view the affordances brought about by the integration of digital technologies in education as a major game changer in the transformation of those basic literacy notions that have accompanied us since the emergence of the first signs of literacy (writing) 5000 years ago.

To hear executives at inBloom tell it, their $100 million education technology start-up is shutting down after only 15 months of operation because it was too far ahead of its time. The seed money for this nonprofit corporation came from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, along with the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
