That's the idea behind a newly opened office building at the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colo. Known as the Research Support Facility (RSF), the structure is designed to create as much energy as it consumes, making it one of the world's most energy-efficient buildings.

    President Barack Obama, the CEOs of Dell Inc. and IBM Corp came up with an agenda for the federal government that will end up saving one trillion dollars by 2020. Some of the ways they could save billions of dollars are by reducing energy use, consolidate IT infrastructure, streamline government supply chains, and by monetizing government assets. The administration is going to work on coporate tax structure and free trade. Obama said he will support this as long as the deficit is neutral.

    A local non-profit awards Houston students with computers to help with education. Comp-U-Dot takes donations in the form of computers and refurbishes them, later giving them away to students. If it weren't for these refurbished computers these students would not have word processing, spreadsheet, or internet capabilities.
