Our Classic Cargo Patchwork shorts with a Terrapin applique, lovingly embroidered on a hand made apliqué. The same classic style that took the lot by storm in the summer of '98, (we never stop upgrading; even our classic styles; they still have the same look that defined the patchwork style, but we always find little ways to keep improving them) In our soft corduroy, dyed in house to match, and cotton twill, with a big cargo pocket and our Terrapin applique in the center.

Since our Terrapin styled embroidered & appliqued products get so much interest, we decided to group them all together in one collection! We put Terrapins (full disclosure; the fluid lines and symmetry of sea turtles give us more to work with, in terms of compositional geometry, but that is a minor zoological detail!) on patchwork shorts, backpacks, handbags, and we are showcasing a whole lot more in 2018, with new graphic designs, rendered in our famed die-cut applique and overlaid digital embroidery. To the people of the Mayan Highlands of Guatemala, it's called corte; short 5 or 6 yard bolts of cloth, made from skeins of hand dyed cotton yarn, woven by hand on a treadle loom to form jaspes, the finely detailed patterns that the fabric reveals when the dyed warp yarns are woven into place, creating a world of native images: Cats, stags & jaguars, mythical creatures like two-headed eagles, and the holy corn plant.

Product Description - A simple version of old school skater jams, just over the knee, in hand woven mercerized 100% cotton native ikat. We are doing unique variants on this style; we'll do 3 of each color per size for starters. Everyone is unique; if the one you like is already sold out; we'll put more up every day or so, but they will always be different.
