Unfortunately, I have never been part of an online learning community until I used the ELC this semester. At first I was hesitant and didn't know if the ELC would be a fit for me but surprisingly enough it just took me a few days to get attuned to the ELC. What I enjoyed most about the ELC was that it allows users to be part of an online learning community where individuals can form discussions and share their knowledge and different experiences. I was able to learn a lot of information from reading different entries in the discussion form, in addition I learned how to communicate effectively in an online interface. One aspect I found challenging in the ELC was keeping myself constantly updated with new information posted by others, but luckily users can subscribe to email updates to keep on track.
Bassmah, I agree with you that the ELC in this course has been a fantastic learning tool this semester. I really enjoyed reading and responding to the various postings. In particular, the topics posted have all been very diverse which kept me very interested each week. Moreover, some of the information shared I have been able to apply it at my job. For example, Google+ has great conferencing capabilities which was presented on by one of our classmates. I informed my supervisor about this and now we have Google+ as a back up to when problems arise with our Adobe Conferencing network.
