Excellent resource for information literacy!

The coolest part of this website is the interactive textbook! It would help students become engaged, as well as having somewhere they can read text, if they aren't allowed to take their books home.

Although this wasn't in the textbook, I believe this test is a good way to evaluate websites. The acronym is very easy for students to remember (CRAP), but still remains informative on the evaluation process.

This website goes into detail about what Project Based Learning is. This is a great tool other than the textbook to get a complete grasp on the concept. Not only does it describe PBL as "a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge", but it also provides steps to follow when creating an engaging PBL assignment lesson plan. These steps include: Key Knowledge, Challenging Problem, Sustained Inquiry, Authenticity, Student Voice & Choice, Reflection, Critique & Revision, and Public Product. Following this list of steps and making sure the lesson plan provides all of these points will make for an engaging class. Another component this website contains is a blog for educators to post about the Project Based lessons they implemented in the classroom. I believe sharing ideas with other teachers is one of the most helpful ways to improve your own teaching because you receive feedback and encouragement to what you are doing well, and what can be changed for the benefit of the class.

This site provides a great summary of PBL, as well as informing the teacher why they should use PBL in the classroom. It is very thorough, and it provides external resources.

A website that breaks down the basics of project based learning into simple, and easy to understand ideas.

Class websites can be a central hub of online activity for your class. With all the digital content and great web tools available, there's so much you can do. This will show us how we can incorporate more technology into the classroom.

We used the online textbook because we felt like it was the most important and reliable resource we could use that would have all the materials we needed to include in our lesson this week.
