Wigan in the north of England has been chosen as the future location of the UK's first zero-energy enterprise park, featuring around 29 thousand sqft of freshly built Greater Manchester business space. With an overall cost of £2.7m, the development will transform Hindley Green Industrial Estate's brownfield site on Swan Lane, located a few miles east of central Wigan, with an injection of £1,300,000 from the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund). The new development won't be the same as any other owing to the fact that tenants do not be charged for electricity, water or gas due to zero carbon aims of the new park.
