Back in 2010, the governing bodies of the United Kingdom began a new undertaking for minimising their commercial property used by the state, releasing a significantly higher amount of footage than the overall square footage of office space for rent or lease in Canary Wharf. The problem is that the idea for decreasing the amount of commercial real estate and re-occupy the empty available work space, retaining, likely, lots of taxpayer's money, is not showing quick progress. The National Audit Office has said that bordering on £830 million a year would be saved within the coming eight years if the stratagem were to pick up so some of the London office property could be released to UK companies.
