I spent last summer vacationing in Europe. I started in London it rained, travelled through France and kept within an old converted distant farmhouse with its own pool and then travelled down through Spain to the Costa del Sol where I then spent 3 months in a villa saturated in the Andalusian hills with spectacular sea and mountain views and obviously its own swimming pool. Both pools were unique and were self-builds. The pool in Spain have been developed by the property owner, a fantastic man called John, who was an ex pat builder from London. The children's pool he'd created was 25 ft by 32 ft. It wasnt block, the floor wasnt level, the tiling wasnt level, the slope of the floor wasnt also, and you know, it was the most effective pool Ive ever experienced. It had been great. I'd sailed to Spain to see the location as its somewhere I'd always wanted to visit on a holiday and are you aware, I have to return as I didnt see a good deal of it. The children's pool had what they call in England, rustic elegance. The factors were not immediately, the floor tiles were slightly uneven and the floor sloped ever-so slightly from side to side but taken using the converted stables, now-a apartment, and the country environment it worked and worked well. It was the very best children's pool Ive ever been in. If I was developing a swimming pool this is one way I would build it. But, a swimming-pool such as this wouldn't make use of a new build house, it only wouldnt suit it.
Simply take the children's pool in France. This was much more of a pool but again was in a countryside setting so an extremely formal new swimming pool wouldnt work and Im pleased to say that this wasnt a formal swimming pool though at least everything was straight like the sides of the pool. Again, the design was some thing I had never seen before. The swimming-pool sloped down in the short end but in a particular stage, the deep part fell away on all 4 sides to become 1-2 ft deep. But, it had an underwater ledge about 3 ft below the top all the way around the pool. It was good for chasing the children round the pool, or for them chasing me, and we'd a fantastic trip with 2 fantastic pools.
The difficulty was though that while I'd a very long holiday, I didnt see a good deal of France or Spain except when we were travelling. The main reason, well Im sure you can guess. Or even heres a hint. I had 2 wonderful private pools. I'm sure I could identify the pools better-than the country local to where I stayed. Ill have to try again and go back next year but I am aware Ill be diverted by the pools when choosing somewhere to keep. On the other hand I could try a mountain cabin having a pond to swim in. Thats anything Ive always thought would be fun. Their a hardcore decision, lake or swimming-pool. Perhaps I can try both or better still perhaps its time I created my own swimming pool in the home.
