    MA, MRes and PhD scholarships, School of History and Anthropology, Queen's University Belfast Deadline: 17 February 2014 The School of History and Anthropology, Queen's University Belfast, is one of the leading schools for historical and anthropological study in the UK and Ireland. Anthropology is listed in the UK top ten in the Guardian (2013), while History is listed in the global top 100 in the QS World Rankings (2013). The School is offering scholarships for highly qualified students beginning its MA, MRes and PhD programmes in September 2014. The range of scholarships available within the School provide for EU and international fees as well as a maintenance allowance. The School offers MA pathways in * History (with strands in British History; Ancient History; Medieval and Early Modern History; American History; Religion, Identity and Conflict) * Irish History * Irish Studies * Social Anthropology * Cognition and Culture The School offers an exciting new MRes pathway in Irish Local History. BJA FY 19 STOP School Violence Training and Technical Assistance Program - 0 views

    Among its provisions, the STOP School Violence Act of 2018 authorized BJA to manage a grant program that would support efforts by states, local units of government, and federally-recognized Indian tribes to prevent and reduce school violence. This solicitation specifically seeks applicants to serve as a training and technical assistance (TTA) provider, on BJA’s behalf, to provide TTA and other support to awardees under the BJA STOP Prevention Training and Response to Mental Health Crisis Program, the BJA STOP Technology and Threat Assessment Solutions for Safer Schools Program, and the COPS Office STOP School Violence Prevention Program, in order to develop a knowledge base and technical assistance delivery model for communities seeking to improve school safety.

    The NEA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the National Education Association, is a public charity supported by contributions from educators' dues, corporate sponsors, and others. The foundation supports student success by helping public school educator's work with key partners to build strong systems of shared responsibility. As part of an effort to achieve this goal, the foundation is inviting applications for its Learning and Leadership Grants program. The program provides support to public school teachers, public education support professionals, and/or faculty and staff in public institutions of higher education through grants to individuals to fund participation in high-quality professional development experiences, such as summer institutes or action research; or grants to groups fund collegial study, including study groups, action research, lesson study, or mentoring experiences for faculty or staff new to an assignment. The grant amount is $2,000 for individuals and $5,000 for groups engaged in collegial study. All $5,000 group grant applicants must include partner information. To be eligible, applicants must be public school educators in grades PreK-12; public school education support professionals; or faculty and staff at public higher education institutions. The foundation encourages education support professionals to apply. Preference will be given to members of the National Education Association.

Pre-K-8 Preservice Teacher Action Research Grants - 0 views

    The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is inviting proposals from collaborative action research projects seeking to improve classroom teachers' understanding and teaching of mathematics in pre-K-8 classrooms. Priority will be given to collaborations consisting of university, elementary/middle school teachers, and pre-service teachers from the undergraduate ranks. The research should be designed and implemented with a focus on enhancing the teaching and/or learning of math from pre-K to grade 8. A single grant of up to $3,000 will be awarded. Grant funds should be used to support expenses incurred in planning and carrying out the research. Applicants must be a current full individual or e-member of NCTM or teach at a school with a current NCTM pre-K-8 school membership. The participating pre-service teacher(s) must be in an initial licensure/certification program at the undergraduate level and at some point during the term of the grant must be engaged in some form of practicum experience or student teaching.

Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) | The University of Southern Mississippi - 0 views

    The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The University of Southern Mississippi is continuing its Summer Undergraduate Research Experience for undergraduates who will begin their senior year in the fall of each academic year. This program is designed to allow undergraduate students from other universities with little or no research experience to conduct graduate-level research on the USM campus in Hattiesburg under the direction of a faculty member in the Department during the summer of your current academic year. Fellowship recipients will receive a $4,500 stipend for the 10 week summer session and paid on-campus lodging. Supplemental travel funds are available for those traveling long distances. The program is intended for students with an interest in chemistry or biochemistry as a career. Students interested primarily in medical, pharmacy, dental or other pre-professional schools are encouraged to look to those schools for summer opportunities.

    The award recipient must come from an economically disadvantaged household, have attended a public school, participated in extracurricular programs including (an/or in addition to) programs supported by the Americans for the Arts (i.e., demonstrate a long term participation in the study of, creation in and/or performance in one or more art forms, including dance, music theatre, literary, visual/media arts), excelled academically, and  formally declared the intent to study and apply economics in their pursuit of higher education and professional career.  This includes the direct study of economics for policy purposes, to applications in the private and public sectors.  The scholarship is open to both recent high school graduates and current college undergraduates who are majoring in economics and/or the arts.

    SASP and Division 16 support students from under-represented cultural backgrounds as they endeavor to become a part of the inspiring profession of School Psychology. SASP and Division 16 are aware of the financial pressures that graduate students experience and thus, through generous support from Division 16, the Diversity Scholarship Program was created to provide monetary support to aid students from diverse cultural backgrounds entering the field.     The mission of the American Association on Health and Disability is to contribute to national, state, and local efforts to promote health and wellness in people with disabilities and identify effective intervention strategies that reduce health disparities between people with disabilities and the general population. AAHD accomplishes its mission through research, education, and advocacy at the national, state, and community levels. To that end, the AAHD Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability is awarded annually to deserving students with a disability who are pursuing undergraduate/graduate studies (at least a sophomore in college) at an accredited university in an area related to health and disability, including but not limited to public health, health promotion, disability studies, disability research, rehabilitation engineering, audiology, disability policy, special education, or other majors that impact quality of life for persons with disabilities. Scholarships of up to $1,000 will be awarded in late January/early February 2019. To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled full time as an undergraduate (freshman or beyond) or part or full time in graduate school, have a documented disability, and be able provide documentation of their disability. (Applicants who have not yet graduated from high school will not be considered.) In addition, applicants must be a citizen or legal resident of the United States enrolled in an accredited U.S. university. Preference will be given to students majoring in public health, disability studies, disability research, health promotion, or a field related to disability and health.

    The Medical Library Association is accepting applications for the MLA Scholarship for Minority Students. Through the program, a scholarship of up to $5,000 will be awarded to a minority student who is entering a graduate program at an American Library Association-accredited library school or has yet to finish at least one half of the program's requirements in the year following the granting of the scholarship. African American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, or Pacific Islander American individuals who wish to study health sciences librarianship are eligible to apply. In addition, the applicant must be entering a master's program at an ALA-accredited graduate library school or, at the time of the awarding of the scholarship (February), have completed no more than one-half of the academic requirements of the graduate program.

Miami University - M.I.A.M.I WOMEN Grant application - 0 views

    Applicants for the funds may be students or faculty. The project, program, or entrepreneurial idea must be created by, led by or benefit women. Grants are awarded in values of $2500 to $20,000. While we prefer the base grant to be $5,000, we are considering a limited number of $2500 which will be required to show high impact. These applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The grants must be submitted online via the link below and must include a 2-minute video. Applicants will be narrowed to a pool of 10-15 finalists by our M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Grants Committee. This committee will review applications; contact applicants if additional information is required, and present the finalists to the M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN Steering Committee and Development Staff. Grant deadline for this year is Feb. 9, 2018. These finalists will perform in a fast-pitch style Hawk Tank event on April 11, 2018. Finalists will be offered fast-pitch training courtesy of the Farmers School of Business - school of Entrepreneurship, and will receive coaching and support. They will then pitch their idea in 5 minutes or less on April 11, 2018 at the event. Giving Circle members are the voters who will determine winners. Absentee voters will be given the option to vote online. Winners will be announced that night or the next day at the Symposium, to be determined.

    With the generous support of the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the German Historical Institute, together with the University of Chicago's Department of History, offers an archival program for doctoral students from Germany and the United States. The summer school prepares Ph.D. students working in the field of U.S. history for their prospective research trips. Participants learn how to contact archives, use finding aids, identify important reference tools, and become acquainted with miscellaneous American research facilities, among them the Wisconsin State Historical Society, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, and the Library of Congress. They gain insight into how historical materials are acquired, preserved, and made accessible to historians. In addition, they have the opportunity to meet a number of prominent scholars and discuss their research with them.
