NGA welcomes all innovative ideas for path-breaking research that may advance the GEOINT mission. The NGA mission is to provide timely, relevant, and accurate geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) in support of national security objectives. GEOINT is the exploitation and analysis of imagery and geospatial information to describe, assess, and visually depict physical features and geographically referenced activities on the Earth. GEOINT consists of imagery, imagery intelligence, and geospatial information. NGA offers a variety of critical GEOINT products in support of U.S. national security objectives and Federal disaster relief, including aeronautical, geodesy, hydrographic, imagery, geospatial and topographical information. The NGA Academic Research Program (NARP) is focused on innovative, far-reaching basic and applied research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics having the potential to advance the GEOINT mission.

The ASTRO-AAPM Physics Resident/Post-Doctoral Fellow Seed Grant is a joint effort to advance the field of radiation oncology in novel ways through the support of talented early-career scientists performing physics and radiation oncology-related research. The aim of the Physics Seed grant is to support the next generation of researchers. You are eligible if: You show a commitment to a career that focuses on physics-related research with a radiation oncology component. Your institution has a well-established research and clinical career development program and qualified faculty in physics and radiation oncology sciences to serve as mentors. If you are a physics resident, your institution is willing to commit 75 percent of your time to research for at least one year One grant of up to $25,000 will be awarded. The recipient is expected to devote 75 percent of their professional effort toward the goals of this award.

"Solicitation of Proposals to Conduct Research Using Microgravity Simulation Devices" NASA Research Announcement (NRA) Appendix D - NNH16ZTT001N-MS NRA This National Aeronautics and Space Administration Research Announcement: "Solicitation of Proposals to Conduct Research Using Microgravity Simulation Devices" is an Appendix to the NASA Omnibus Research Announcement ROSBio-2016 (NNH16ZTT001N NRA). This Appendix solicits proposals that will use microgravity simulation devices to test specific hypotheses regarding the effects of altered gravity on biological systems, including cells, tissues, microorganisms, plants, and whole organisms. Proposing investigators will have the option of using the Microgravity Simulation Support Laboratory (MSSL) at the Kennedy Space Center, or using microgravity simulation devices at other locations. Proposals must address Space Biology research emphases, visions, and goals identified in the ROSBio-2016 Omnibus NRA or in the Space Biology Science Plan 2016-2025, and/or recommendations from the Decadal Survey.

This National Aeronautics and Space Administration NRA "Solicitation of Proposals for Possible Inclusion in a Russian Bion-M2 Mission" is an Appendix to the NASA Omnibus Research Announcement ROSBio-2016 (NNH16ZTT001N NRA). NASA's Space Life and Physical Sciences Research and Applications Division (SLPSRAD) has been invited to propose candidate experiments from U.S. investigators for possible inclusion in the Bion-M2 mission, which will occur in 2020 or 2021. The NASA Space Biology Program, therefore, requests proposals for flight investigations that fit within the Russian IBMP flight experiment designs as described in Appendix C (NNH16ZTT001N-BION) to the ROSBio-2016 Omnibus NRA. For this Appendix, NASA Space Biology will use a two-phase submission and review process. The first phase will require the submission of a preliminary proposal, hereafter referred to as a pre-proposal. Pre-proposals will be evaluated by NASA and possibly by the IBMP/RAS for their suitability for inclusion in mission planning. Investigators whose pre-proposals are found to satisfy the evaluation criteria described in Appendix C will be invited to submit complete full proposals during phase 2, which will occur at a later date, after more details about the Bion-M2 mission become available.

Proposals are being solicited from organizations who have proven experience providing engaging, relevant professional development opportunities for educators. This grant will allow professional development organizations to use their PD experience in combination with NASA's subject matter expertise to create PD programs that will help improve teacher efficacy in teaching authentic, relevant science lessons to Ohio's students.

Zonta Anchorage is a chartered club of Zonta International, a global service organization of executives in business and the professions working to advance the status of women. In support of its mission, Zonta is inviting applications for its Amelia Earhart Fellowship from women of any nationality who are pursuing a PhD. Fellowships of $10,000 are awarded to thirty-five women each year and may be used at any university or college offering accredited postgraduate courses and degrees. The program aims to help talented women pursuing advanced studies in the typically male-dominated fields of aerospace-related sciences and engineering achieve their educational goals. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Headquarters has released a solicitation, titled NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Opportunities - Fall 2020 (NSTGRO20), on September 5, 2019. Please note that this solicitation replaces the NASA Space Technology Research Fellowships (NSTRF) solicitation. NASA's Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD) seeks to sponsor U.S. citizen, U.S. national, and permanent resident graduate student research that has significant potential to contribute to NASA's goal of creating innovative new space technologies for our Nation's science, exploration, and economic future. This call for graduate student research proposals solicits proposals on behalf of individuals pursuing or planning to pursue master's or doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees in relevant space technology disciplines at accredited U.S. universities (see solicitation for complete eligibility requirements). Recipients, referred to as NASA Space Technology Graduate Researchers, will perform innovative space technology research and will improve America's technological competitiveness by providing the Nation with a pipeline of innovative space technologies.

The Land-Cover/Land-Use Change (LCLUC) program is developing interdisciplinary research combining aspects of physical, social, and economic sciences, with a high level of societal relevance, using remote sensing tools, methods, and data. One of its stated goals is to develop the capability for periodic satellite-based inventories of land-cover and monitoring and characterizing land-cover and land-use change.

Over the years, NASA has invested heavily in the development and execution of an extensive array of space astrophysics missions. The magnitude and scope of the archival data from those missions enables science that transcends traditional wavelength regimes and allows researchers to answer questions that would be difficult, if not impossible, to address through an individual observing program. To capitalize on this invaluable asset and enhance the scientific return on NASA mission investments, the Astrophysics Data Analysis Program (ADAP) provides support for investigations whose focus is on the analysis of archival data from NASA space astrophysics missions.

It is NASA's intent to update these foci and compete this element on an annual basis to best address scientific and programmatic priorities: 1. High-End Computing for ESI: Research advancing the use of High-End Computing (HEC) resources to answer specific questions in solid-Earth science. This subsection welcomes proposals addressing observational network design and augmentation, automated processing of large datasets, and advanced analysis and simulation. Proposals that demonstrate a clear need and robust plan for use of NASA HEC resources are especially encouraged. 2. Geomagnetic Research: Research that utilizes remotely sensed geomagnetic observations to further advance our understanding of the solid Earth. 3. Strengthening ESI Community Knowledge and Skills: New ESI-relevant activities that strengthen knowledge and skills of graduate students and/or postdoctoral researchers and broaden community awareness of the ESI mission. Prospective proposers are encouraged to contact the program point of contact to discuss the relevance of their proposal.

This ESI Appendix challenges universities to examine the theoretical feasibility of new ideas and approaches that are critical to making science, space travel, and exploration more effective, affordable, and sustainable. It is the intent of the STRG Program and this Appendix to foster interactions between NASA and the awarded university PIs/teams. Therefore, collaboration/interaction with NASA researchers should be expected while conducting space technology research under these awards.

The Bose-Einstein Condensate Cold Atom Laboratory (BECCAL) facility on the International Space Station (ISS) will be a joint Bose-Einstein-Condensate (BEC) and Cold Atom Laboratory (CAL) facility to perform experiments in free fall in microgravity on timescales inaccessible on the ground. The facility which was developed through cooperation between the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) will allow scientists to perform experiments in atom optics, physics of quantum degenerate gases and their mixtures without gravity effects. In particular, it will offer better atom interferometer implementations on ISS with precision science measurements. The experiments are also motivated by future high precision matter wave experiments in fundamental physics and applications in Earth observation and space physics. Therefore it will allow to study and employ different methods and phenomena such as evaporation, Bose-Einstein condensation, delta-kick collimation, atom interferometry and the physics of atomic mixtures.

This program element solicits scientific investigations that require the accurate and extensive vector wind and backscatter measurements provided by QuikSCAT, RapidScat, COWVR, and other international scatterometers, such as ASCAT (from the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites; EUMETSAT) and OSCAT (from the Indian Space Research Organization; ISRO).

We are seeking proposals for new research that will support and enhance the activities of the Consortium for the Valuation of Applications Benefits Linked to Earth Science (VALUABLES), a new consortium at RFF made possible through a partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). VALUABLES is focused on advancing innovative uses of existing methods and developing new techniques for valuing the information provided by Earth observations, especially those derived from satellites and aircraft. Any area in which Earth observations play a role may be addressed, including applications relating to human health, air quality, water resources, ecosystem services, natural disasters, food security and agriculture, wildland fires, energy, urban development, and transportation and infrastructure. However, the use of remotely sensed data must be a key component of the analysis. In addition, we especially welcome proposals that focus on evaluating the socioeconomic impacts of applications of Earth observations for solving pressing societal problems and that quantify, in monetary terms, the value of Earth observations in specific applications. In so doing, proposals should clearly describe how information from Earth observations makes improvements to decision making and the value of those improvements. Applicants may propose to quantify the private and/or social benefits of applications of Earth observations, including nonmarket benefits. The Macauley Award is open to researchers at US-based universities and nonprofit research institutions. Interdisciplinary research teams are preferred, and teams that involve both economists and Earth scientists are particularly encouraged.

Eligible applicants are tenure-track faculty members at U.S. institutions whose primary appointment is in a department of astronomy, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or physics, but not in a school of medicine or engineering. The department must grant both the BS/BA and Ph.D. For the 2013 proposal cycle, eligibility is limited to faculty members who started their first tenure-track position anytime in calendar year 2010.
