Earth Science U.S. Participating Investigator - 0 views

  •
NASA makes use of space-based, surface-based, airborne, and balloon-based measurements, as well as a broad suite of observations (both space-based and other) made by our interagency and international partners to address the science questions articulated in the 2014 Science Plan for NASA's Science Mission Directorate (hereafter, the NASA Science Plan). Particular interest is given to having close connections with the satellite observations of international partners, especially as coordinated through the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites. NASA solicits proposals for U.S. Participating Investigator (USPI) investigations on a foreign space mission that address the Earth Science Research Program objectives listed in the NASA Science Plan. This solicitation is for Earth science investigations that address the science questions listed in the NASA Science Plan and contribute and facilitate access to foreign space agencies' assets.

ROSBio Appendix C: Solicitation of Proposals for Possible Inclusion in a Russian Bion-M2 Mission - 0 views

  •
This National Aeronautics and Space Administration NRA "Solicitation of Proposals for Possible Inclusion in a Russian Bion-M2 Mission" is an Appendix to the NASA Omnibus Research Announcement ROSBio-2016 (NNH16ZTT001N NRA). NASA's Space Life and Physical Sciences Research and Applications Division (SLPSRAD) has been invited to propose candidate experiments from U.S. investigators for possible inclusion in the Bion-M2 mission, which will occur in 2020 or 2021. The NASA Space Biology Program, therefore, requests proposals for flight investigations that fit within the Russian IBMP flight experiment designs as described in Appendix C (NNH16ZTT001N-BION) to the ROSBio-2016 Omnibus NRA. For this Appendix, NASA Space Biology will use a two-phase submission and review process. The first phase will require the submission of a preliminary proposal, hereafter referred to as a pre-proposal. Pre-proposals will be evaluated by NASA and possibly by the IBMP/RAS for their suitability for inclusion in mission planning. Investigators whose pre-proposals are found to satisfy the evaluation criteria described in Appendix C will be invited to submit complete full proposals during phase 2, which will occur at a later date, after more details about the Bion-M2 mission become available.

CubeSat-based Science Missions for Geospace and Atmospheric Research | NSF - National Science Foundation - 0 views

  •
Lack of essential observations from space is currently a major limiting factor in many areas of geospace and atmospheric research. Recent advances in sensor and spacecraft technologies make it feasible to obtain key measurements from low-cost, small satellite missions. A particularly promising aspect of this development is the prospect for obtaining multi-point observations in space that are critical for addressing many outstanding problems in space and atmospheric sciences. space-based measurements from small satellites also have great potential to advance discovery and understanding in geospace and atmospheric sciences in many other ways. To take full advantage of these developments, NSF is soliciting research proposals centered on small satellite missions.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Science Mission Directorate (SMD) announces the release of its annual NASA Research Announcement (NRA), Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) - 2018. ROSES is an omnibus NRA, with many individual program elements, each with its own due dates and topics. All together these cover the wide range of basic and applied supporting research and technology in Space and Earth sciences supported by SMD. Awards will be made as grants, cooperative agreements, contracts, and inter- or intra-agency transfers, depending on the nature of the work proposed, the proposing organization, and/or program requirements. The typical period of performance for an award is three years, but some programs may allow up to five years and others specify shorter periods. Organizations of every type, domestic and foreign, Government and private, for profit and not-for-profit, may submit proposals without restriction on teaming arrangements.

ROSBio Appendix F: Solicitation of Proposals to Conduct Research on Antarctic Balloon Flights - 0 views

  •
"Solicitation of Proposals to Conduct Research on Antarctic Balloon Flights" NASA Research Announcement (NRA) Appendix F - NNH16ZTT001N-AB NRA This National Aeronautics and Space Administration Research Announcement: "Solicitation of Proposals to Conduct Research on Antarctic Balloon Flights" is an Appendix to the NASA Omnibus Research Announcement ROSBio-2016 (NNH16ZTT001N NRA). This Appendix solicits proposals for research experiments that will use balloon flights managed from NASA's Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility to investigate the effects of radiation exposures (that are similar to those encountered in deep Space) on biological systems (cell culture, invertebrate animal models, plants, algae, and microorganisms). All proposed experiments will be secondary payloads and will piggyback upon primary payloads flown on balloon campaigns. Balloon flights for selected investigators will be arranged by the NASA Payload Development Team. Proposals must address Space Biology research emphases, visions, and goals identified in the ROSBio-2016 Omnibus NRA or in the Space Biology Science Plan 2016-2025, and/or recommendations from the Decadal Survey.
