The Department of Education (Department) is issuing a notice inviting applications (NIA) for new awards for fiscal year (FY) 2020 for the Coordinating Center for Transition Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities into Higher Education-Model Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities Program-Coordinating Center (TPSID-CC), Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number 84.407B. This notice relates to the approved information collection under OMB control number 1894-0006.

Under the call, grants of up to $50,000 over up to three years will be awarded in support of education research projects that contribute to an understanding of the rapid shifts in education in this time of crisis and change. The foundation is especially interested in studies focused on understanding and disrupting the reproduction and deepening of educational inequality caused by the crisis, as well as research projects that are working to reimagine educational opportunities in these times. The foundation is interested in proposals at all levels and in all settings of learning, including early childhood, higher education, and in schools, families, and communities, as well as studies that seek to understand the situated experiences of non-dominant groups, including English-language learners, immigrants, minoritized communities, Indigenous communities, students with disabilities, highly mobile and institutionalized youth (e.g., foster youth or those in youth prisons), and rural communities. The program will support proposals from multiple disciplinary and methodological perspectives, both domestically and internationally, as well as from scholars at various stages in their careers.

With this solicitation, NIJ seeks proposals from qualified applicants to establish and operate a National Center on Forensics to: 1. Facilitate a partnership amongst: a. A full-service State department of forensic science with a medical examiner function; b. An accredited university of higher education with affiliate medical and law schools; and c. A statewide district attorneys association 2. For the purpose of: a. Providing medico-legal learning opportunities for medical students to train as deputy medical examiners/coroners in underserved rural areas; b. Provide forensic science and legal training to district attorneys, judges, and law enforcement; and c. Develop opportunities as appropriate amongst the designated partners to benefit current and future practitioners in the field

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Division of Preservation and Access is accepting applications for the Preservation and Access Education and Training program. The purpose of this program is to support the development of knowledge and skills among professionals responsible for preserving and establishing access to humanities collections. Awards are made to organizations that offer national, regional, or statewide education and training programs that provide the staff of cultural institutions with the knowledge and skills needed to serve as effective stewards of humanities collections.

The NEPQR-SET program aims to enhance to enhance nurse education and strengthen the nursing workforce through the expansion of experiential learning opportunities, including the use of simulation-based technology, including equipment, to advance the health of patients, families, and communities in rural and medically underserved areas experiencing diseases and conditions that affect public health such as: high burden of stroke, heart disease, behavioral and mental health, maternal mortality, HIV/AIDS and or obesity.

This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) invites applications for institutional research career development (K12) programs from applicant organizations that propose to support a program of mentored institutional career development programs for junior faculty investigators who have recently completed postgraduate clinical training in a subspecialty area of Pediatrics and are committed to launching an independent research career. The program provides supervised biomedical research training to assist the transition of junior faculty investigators into productive and independent physician-scientists.

The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The over-arching goal of this R25 program is to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nations biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs. With this solicitation, NIJ requests proposals for research to evaluate the effectiveness of the Second Chance Act (SCA) grant program in improving reentry and reducing recidivism. To support this effort, NIJ will fund a phased research evaluation strategy that details and measures the implementation, processes, outcomes, costs, and impacts of the grants awarded under the SCA grant program. This solicitation supports DOJ Strategic Objective 3.1: Combat violent crime, promote safe communities, and uphold the rights of victims of crime.

The goal of this solicitation is to prevent and reduce youth gang involvement and youth gang violence. Overarching objectives and deliverables include:  Reduce and sustain reductions in community youth violence, particularly gun and gang violence, and victimization.  Prevent violence and promote healing from victimization and exposure to violence.  Convene a task force or working group (this may be an existing group) that meets regularly throughout the project period to identify and address service gaps and barriers, and use funding for a wide variety of intervention and suppression strategies targeting youth who are in a gang or at risk of joining a gang.

To that end, it is inviting concept papers for its grants program. Through the program, grants will be awarded in support of proposals and programs in which the chief purpose is to advance engineering for the welfare of humanity. Proposals must be consistent with the mission of UEF and its priorities for giving, which include programs focused on diversity in the profession, K-12 education, and engineering ethics, safety, security, and leadership. Preference will be given to proposals for programs that are innovative and aim to integrate multiple fields and subspecialties of engineering; proposals for programs that include outreach to the community; collaborative proposals submitted on behalf of a group; and proposals that specify that grant funds will not be used to offset existing staff salaries.

Blended finance strategies are designed to encourage members of the private sector, such as companies and investors, to invest in activities and projects that can achieve both financial returns and positive social and environmental outcomes. Through this Addendum to the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA-MEX-PCM-2020), USAID/Mexico seeks partners to research, develop, test and evaluate innovative approaches to increase access to finance and catalyze investments to reduce deforestation and forest degradation in Mexico by improving land management practices and reducing the drivers of land-use change, especially in the States of Campeche, Chiapas, Jalisco, Oaxaca, and Quintana Roo.

The Walton Family Foundation today announced the launch of the third round of its Innovative Schools Program (ISP) grant opportunity. Educators and entrepreneurs with ideas for schools that offer transformative opportunities for students are encouraged to apply for up to $325,000 in funding. The program is designed to support schools that look and feel truly different, achieve unprecedented outcomes, serve high-need students and embrace analysis of their successes and challenges to share with other schools.

Through its Fellowship Programs, the Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation's college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.

The program supports research addressing learning in individuals and in groups, across a wide range of domains at one or more levels of analysis including: molecular/cellular mechanisms; brain systems; cognitive, affective, and behavioral processes; and social/cultural influences. The program also supports research on augmented intelligence that clearly articulates principled ways in which human approaches to learning and related processes, such as in design, complex decision-making and problem-solving, can be improved through interactions with others, and/or the use of artificial intelligence in technology. These could include ways of using knowledge about human functioning to improve the design of collaborative technologies that have capabilities to learn to adapt to humans. For both aspects of the program, there is special interest in collaborative and collective models of learning and/or intelligence that are supported by the unprecedented speed and scale of technological connectivity. This includes emphasis on how people and technology working together in new ways and at scale can achieve more than either can attain alone. The program also seeks explanations for how the emergent intelligence of groups, organizations, and networks intersects with processes of learning, behavior and cognition in individuals.

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) announces the availability of approximately $975,412 to be competitively awarded for the purpose of expanding access to high-quality, comprehensive services to low-income infants and toddlers and their families through Early Head Start-Child Care (EHS-CC) Partnerships, or through the expansion of Early Head Start services. ACF solicits applications from public entities, including states, or private non-profit organizations, including community-based or faith-based organizations, or for-profit agencies that meet eligibility for applying as stated in section 645A of the Head Start Act. The Spencer Foundation was established in 1962 to investigate ways in which education, broadly conceived, can be improved around the world. The foundation is committed to supporting high-quality investigation of education through its research programs and to strengthening and renewing the educational research community through its fellowship and training programs and related activities. To advance this mission, the foundation is accepting applications for its Small Research Grants Program, which supports education research projects with budgets of $50,000 or less. The mission of the Consortium for Applied Studies in Jewish Education (CASJE) is to stimulate and support the work of researchers, practitioners, and funders who believe that evidence should drive decision-making in Jewish education. To that end, CASJE is inviting applications for research that can make a difference in how Jewish education is practiced. Two grants of up to $30,000 will be awarded in support of time-concentrated research connected to the consortium's areas of focus, which include Jewish educational leadership, Jewish early-childhood education, Hebrew language education, Israel education, and the career trajectories of Jewish educators. Only empirical research will be funded; conceptual inquiries or literature reviews are not eligible for funding.
