The Department of Higher Education (DHE) will utilize the Ohio Higher Education Innovation Grant program to promote educational excellence and economic efficiency throughout the state in order to stabilize or reduce student tuition rates at institutions of higher education.  Successful awardees will design collaborative, innovative projects that support academic achievement and economic efficiencies. Projects focused on (a) consolidating services (i.e. administration redesign, program sharing) and/or (b) competency-based education are preferred.

On behalf of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and in partnership with the Indonesian Ministry of Research Technology and Higher Education (Kemristekdikti), IIE announces a pre-solicitation for the USAID Sustainable Higher Education Research Alliances (USAID SHERA) program to increase research capacity in Indonesia through U.S. - Indonesia partnerships. This program will foster long-term research alliances between top-tier Indonesian higher education institutions, affiliate Indonesian higher education institutions, U.S. higher education institutions, private sector partners, and other stakeholders on critical topics of local and global significance.  USAID SHERA seeks to fund approximately five Centers for Collaborative Research (CCRs) on specific topics at top-tier Indonesian institutions in partnership with at least one U.S. higher education institution partner and at least three Indonesian higher education institution partners. The anticipated amount of funding per CCR is US$3 million over four years with the lead Indonesian institution as the primary sub-recipient of the funding. The USAID SHERA team is currently accepting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) through the USAID SHERA website through September 15, 2016. USAID SHERA will review completed EOIs to confirm candidates' eligibility and establish target applicants for the full Request for Applications, to be released by the end of September 2016. Interested U.S. higher education intuitions should contact potential Indonesian applicants directly to discuss participating as a partnership member.

The Improving Teacher Quality State Grants Program is funded under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 (Title II, Part A of Public Law 107-110). The purpose of the program is to increase the academic achievement of all students by helping schools and school districts improve teacher, instructional paraprofessional and principal quality. Ohio public and private colleges and universities are invited annually to submit proposals to support partnerships of institutions of higher education and high-need school districts to provide high quality professional development for elementary, middle and high school teachers of mathematics and science.

As part of NSF's Cyberinfrastructure Framework for 21st Century Science and Engineering (CIF21) activity, the Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR) seeks to enable research communities to develop visions, teams, and capabilities dedicated to creating new, large-scale, next-generation data resources and relevant analytic techniques to advance fundamental research for areas of research covered by EHR programs. Successful proposals will outline activities that will have significant impacts across multiple fields by enabling new types of data-intensive research. Investigators should think broadly and create a vision that extends intellectually across multiple disciplines and that includes-but is not necessarily limited to - areas of research funded by EHR.

This program aims to provide all U.S. students the opportunity to participate in computer science (CS) and computational thinking (CT) education in their schools at the K-12 levels. With this solicitation, the National Science Foundation (NSF) focuses on researcher-practitioner partnerships (RPPs) that foster the research and development needed to bring CS/CT to all schools. Specifically, this solicitation aims to provide high school teachers with the preparation, professional development (PD) and ongoing support that they need to teach rigorous computer science courses, and K-8 teachers with the instructional materials and preparation they need to integrate CS/CT into their teaching.

In a search for innovative solutions, our 2017-2019 College Completion Grant provides funding for colleges to identify struggling students who are near completion - with an emphasis on low-income students and students of color - and develop the interventions necessary to keep them in college and on track to graduation.

The foundation awards individual grants of up to $1,000 to any K-5 teacher in a public or private nonprofit school to support hands-on science or math education projects. The funds are for project-related materials only. The foundation strongly encourages projects planned and led by individual teachers or teams of teachers for their own classrooms.

In February 2017, NewSchools Venture Fund launched the NewSchools Ignite Special Education Challenge - open to entrepreneurs developing engaging, technology-enabled learning experiences, instructional content, assessments, administrative tools, and other digital products that support students with disabilities in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade.

The National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program seeks to encourage talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors and professionals to become K-12 mathematics and science (including engineering and computer science) teachers. The program invites creative and innovative proposals that address the critical need for recruiting and preparing highly effective elementary and secondary science and mathematics teachers in high-need local educational agencies.

A Community Thrives is a new approach to social impact programs that was developed through a collaboration across the entire USA TODAY NETWORK. While most initiatives designate funds or give support to great charities, we're going to instead fund and support great ideas. The volunteering begins with you pitching your creative solutions to solving our communities' most critical needs.

In 2014, the NCAA begins a new initiative, the NCAA Innovations in Research and Practice Grant Program. While other NCAA-affiliated research efforts address student-athlete health and safety, in the current cycle this new grant program will support research and data-driven pilot programs designed to enhance student-athlete well-being and mental health. Potential topics include, but are not limited to, managing transitions (e.g., from recruit to first-year student; transferring between universities; adapting from youth sports to college sports environment; developing independence from parents), identity development, stress management, substance use, bystander intervention, cultivating healthy relationships, career exploration and sport exit strategies. The NCAA will award $100,000 in grants for the 2014 calendar year to scholars or practitioners conducting studies or piloting on-campus programs that benefit student-athletes and NCAA member institutions. Grant recipients will be invited to present their work to hundreds of key stakeholders in intercollegiate athletics and members of the media in January of 2015 at the NCAA Convention in Washington, D.C.

The Promoting Research and Innovation in Methodologies for Evaluation (PRIME) program seeks to support research on evaluation with special emphasis on: (1) exploring innovative approaches for determining the impacts and usefulness of STEM education projects and programs; (2) building on and expanding the theoretical foundations for evaluating STEM education and workforce development initiatives, including translating and adapting approaches from other fields; and (3) growing the capacity and infrastructure of the evaluation field. Three types of proposals will be supported by the program: Exploratory Projects that include proof-of-concept and feasibility studies; more extensive Full-Scale Projects; and workshops and conferences.

The New Civics initiative invites research proposals that ask critical questions about how education can more effectively contribute to the civic development of young people. As a start, we ask what experiences, environments, and contexts help young people, from all walks of life, develop the habits, skills, understandings, and dispositions that encourage informed participation in civic affairs. In so doing we seek to connect to a tradition of civic education inside schools, both to reassert its legitimacy as a primary aim of public schooling, and to reimagine what civic education might include. Yet civic development also occurs outside classrooms and schools, and we underscore our interest in research about civic action and learning in those contexts as well. Our ultimate aim is to contribute to educational improvement by supporting high-quality research studies that can lead to better-designed, more effective programs, policies, practices, and settings that prepare young people to act and to do so in informed and reasoned ways.

The purposes of the Educational Technology, Media, and Materials for Individuals with Disabilities Program1 are to: (1) Improve results for students with disabilities by promoting the development, demonstration, and use of technology; (2) support educational activities designed to be of educational value in the classroom for students with disabilities; (3) provide support for captioning and video description that is appropriate for use in the classroom; and (4) provide accessible educational materials to students with disabilities in a timely manner.

An "Ideas Lab" is a new merit review strategy being used at the National Science Foundation to address grand challenges in STEM research and education. The Ideas Lab process is modeled on the "IDEAS Factory" program http://www.epsrc.ac.uk/funding/routes/network/ideas/Pages/experience.aspx developed by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) of the United Kingdom. The Ideas Lab process starts with submission of a brief application to participate in the Ideas Lab, indicating a Principal Investigator's interest in and preliminary ideas regarding the specific Ideas Lab topic. A diverse sub-set of participants from a range of disciplines and backgrounds will be selected from the submitted applications by NSF and will be brought together in an intensive, interactive and free-thinking environment, where participants immerse themselves in a collaborative dialog in order to construct bold and innovative approaches. In the IDEAS Factory model, the five-day Ideas Lab culminates with the development of multidisciplinary collaborative concepts by teams of participants; a sub-set of these teams are then invited to submit full proposals. This Dear Colleague Letter only invites applications to participate in Phase I of the IUSE Ideas Labs (i.e., the 5-day immersive activity). Full proposals will not be invited at the end of the three IUSE Phase I Ideas Labs.

Emerging technologies have the potential to transform learning opportunities, increase interest in learning, and enhance learning outcomes for people in the workforce and in every educational level and outside of formal education. NSF recently released the Cyberlearning and Future Learning Technologies (Cyberlearning) program solicitation (NSF 14-526) that states "The program has two goals: (1) to invent, explore, and learn to effectively use the new technologies that will address society's educational goals and (2) to advance understanding of how people learn and how to better foster learning in the context of the new kinds of learning experiences that technology makes possible." Cyberlearning is jointly managed by the Directorates for Computer and Information Science and Engineering; Education and Human Resources; Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences; and Engineering. The purpose of this DCL is to invite proposals that support the goals of the Cyberlearning program and do so in the context of the EHR programs listed below. EHR is particularly interested in projects that propose to design, develop, and evaluate technological resources, tools, and models for fostering and assessing STEM learning; to advance understanding of how to foster STEM learning; and to study t

RGK Foundation awards grants in the broad areas of Education, Community, and Health/Medicine. The Foundation's primary interests within Education include programs that focus on formal K-12 education (particularly mathematics, science and reading), teacher development, literacy, and higher education. Within Community, the Foundation supports a broad range of human services, community improvement, abuse prevention, and youth development programs. Human service programs of particular interest to the Foundation include children and family services, early childhood development, and parenting education. The Foundation supports a variety of Community Improvement programs including those that enhance non-profit management and promote philanthropy and voluntarism. Youth development programs supported by the Foundation typically include after-school educational enrichment programs that supplement and enhance formal education systems to increase the chances for successful outcomes in school and life. The Foundation is also interested in programs that attract female and minority students into the fields of mathematics, science, and technology. The Foundation's current interests in the area of Health/Medicine include programs that promote the health and well-being of children, programs that promote access to health services, and Foundation-initiated programs focusing on ALS.

All projects are welcome; the only condition is that they must contribute to transforming education. Your proposal can address, for instance, one or more of the following: Learning contents Devices, tools and connectivity Learning assessment and analytics School management and organisation Learning communities. We accept applications from all over the world and not only those from the European Union. All selected startup teams must commit full time to the incubation process. All selected startups will be required to have registered or register within the EU.

The purpose of the Cyberlearning and Future Learning Technologies program is to integrate opportunities offered by emerging technologies with advances in what is known about how people learn to advance three interconnected thrusts: Innovation: inventing and improving next-generation genres (types) of learning technologies, identifying new means of using technology for fostering and assessing learning, and proposing new ways of integrating learning technologies with each other and into learning environments to foster and assess learning; Advancing understanding of how people learn in technology-rich learning environments: enhancing understanding of how people learn and how to better foster and assess learning, especially in technology-rich learning environments that offer new opportunities for learning and through data collection and computational modeling of learners and groups of learners that can be done only in such environments; and Promoting broad use and transferability of new genres: extracting lessons from experiences with these technologies that can inform design and use of new genres across disciplines, populations, and learning environments; advancing understanding of how to foster learning through effective use these new technologies and the environments they are integrated into. The intention of this program is to advance technologies that specifically focus on the experiences of learners; innovations that simply focus on making teaching easier will not be funded.  Proposals are expected to address all three of the program's thrusts.
