NineSights Community - Request for Proposal: 2aPartner for Deodorization/Sterilization... - 0 views

  •
A global automobile parts manufacturer, a client of NineSigma, believes credible air cleaning technology is key to comfortable automobile experience; particularly deodorization and sterilization technology will become increasingly important. The Client has promoted research and development on their own, however they now face a challenge to find a suitable solution to ensure both deodorization/sterilization and safety in a short time. Given that technological development of such air cleaning is done globally, the Client decided to find a partner to further accelerate the development speed, which lead to this offering.

Next Generation Thermal, Power, and Controls (NGT-PAC) - Federal Business Opportunities... - 0 views

  •
Air Force Research Laboratory, Aerospace Systems Directorate, AFRL/RQ, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, is soliciting technical and cost proposals for research in the areas of next generation aircraft thermal, power, and controls (NGT-PAC). NGT-PAC will conduct applied research to increase knowledge and understanding of future thermal, power and controls requirements while advancing technology development in an effort to prove technological feasibility and assess operability and producibility of thermal, power, and controls components and architectures through proof of principal demonstrations. Affordability will be enhanced through use of existing airframe and engine designs as testbeds. Research will be organized in two primary focus areas: 1) Engine 2) Airframe. Offerors shall propose to one of the Basic Contract SOOs (either engine or airframe) and the associated (engine or airframe) Task Order 0001 SOO. The offeror must specify in their proposal which Basic Contract SOO their Statement of Work (SOW) is based upon (engine or airframe). Offerors proposing to both the engine and airframe SOOs shall prepare a separate SOW and proposal for the engine SOO and the airframe SOO.

Environmental Engineering | NSF - National Science Foundation - 0 views

  •
The goal of the Environmental Engineering program is to support transformative research which applies scientific and engineering principles to avoid or minimize solid, liquid, and gaseous discharges, resulting from human activities on land, inland and coastal waters, and air, while promoting resource and energy conservation and recovery. The program also fosters cutting-edge scientific research for identifying, evaluating, and monitoring the waste assimilative capacity of the natural environment and for removing or reducing contaminants from polluted air, water, and soils. Any proposal investigating sensors, materials or devices that does not integrate these products with an environmental engineering activity or area of research may be returned without review.

Flash and Laser Airborne Protection Systems (FLAPS) - FA8650-18-S-5006 - Federal Busine... - 0 views

  •
The objective of this effort is to conduct exploratory and advanced research and development of materials technologies to control, manipulate, and protect against photonic energy. Research involved in the processing, structure, properties and performance of photonic materials will provide a means to mature and transition the highest priority products needed by the Air Force. These efforts will ultimately result in developed technologies that can be transitioned to legacy, developmental and future Air Force system components to provide an increase in aircrew protection, performance and efficiency while reducing cost and accelerating manufacture. The objective of this program is to increase aircrew survivability to flash-blindness and directed energy threats through unique and innovative R&D solutions, and to advance the current state-of-the-art in photonic materials technologies, interactions, and applications.

nsf.gov - Funding - Partnerships for Innovation: Accelerating Innovation Research - US ... - 0 views

  •
To continue to strengthen the innovation ecosystem, NSF is revising NSF 12-511 to promote two choices under the Partnerships for Innovation (PFI): Accelerating Innovation Research (AIR) subprogram.  The first choice, Technology Translation, encourages the translation of technologically-promising research discoveries made by prior and/or current NSF-funded investigators toward a path of commercialization; while the second choice, Research Alliance, promotes synergistic collaborations between an existing NSF-funded research alliance (including consortia such as Engineering Research Centers, Industry University Cooperative Research Centers, Science and Technology Centers, Nanoscale Science and Engineering Centers, Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers, Centers for Chemical Innovation, and Emerging Frontiers in Research and Innovation grantees) and other public and private entities to motivate the translation and transfer of research discoveries into innovative technologies and commercial reality.  Both of these choices are designed to accelerate innovation that results in the creation of new wealth and the building of strong local, regional, and national economies.

The DoD Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI), one element of the University Research Initiative (URI), is sponsored by the DoD research offices: the Office of Naval Research (ONR), the Army Research Office (ARO), and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) (hereafter collectively referred to as "DoD agencies").The MURI program supports basic research in science and engineering at U.S. institutions of higher education (hereafter referred to as "universities") that is of potential interest to DoD. The program is focused on multidisciplinary research efforts where more than one traditional discipline interacts to provide rapid advances in scientific areas of interest to the DoD. As defined by the DoD, "basic research is systematic study directed toward greater knowledge or understanding of the fundamental aspects of phenomena and of observable facts without specific applications towards processes or products in mind. It includes all scientific study and experimentation directed toward increasing fundamental knowledge and understanding in those fields of the physical, engineering, environmental, and life sciences related to long-term national security needs. It is farsighted high payoff research that provides the basis for technological progress." (DoD 7000.14.R, vol. 2B, chap.5). DoD's basic research program invests broadly in many specific fields to ensure that it has early cognizance of new scientific knowledge.

Military Medical Photonics Program - 0 views

  •
The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) seeks unclassified proposals for research and development aimed at using lasers and other light source technology to develop applications in medicine, photobiology, surgery, and closely related materials sciences, with applications to combat casualty care and other military medical problems. This announcement is for a small number of individual awards. It is complementary to ongoing and future planed broad based awards, primarily directed toward university-based medical institutions, conducted by teams of physicians, biomedical scientists, physical scientists, and engineers. The efforts proposed may be basic or applied research, and must have direct relevance to combat casualty care or other military medical priorities. They must offer unique capabilities, not substantially funded by other DOD or other agency programs. Applicants must demonstrate substantial experience working to further military medical priorities, including transitioning research into clinical practice and working products. Substantial experience collaborating with military medical centers is also a requirement to establish relevance to combat casualty care or other military medical priorities, and facilitate the transition of research results to meet military needs.
