    ASHA's Advancing Academic-Research Careers Award is intended to support the academic research careers of junior-level faculty in the field of communication sciences and disorders. The program funds projects that include both a teaching and a research component. Recipients work in conjunction with mentors to develop mentored teaching and research plans tailored to the applicant's career stage. The plans - which should propose specific teaching and research activities to be completed under the guidance of the mentors during the eighteen-month funding period - are submitted as part of the AARC application. In support of ASHA's strategic objectives, applications that focus the mentored teaching and/or research component on clinical practice research, implementation science, and interprofessional education and interprofessional practice are particularly encouraged. In 2018, ASHA will award up to ten grants of $5,000 each. To be eligible, applicants must have a research doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent); a full-time tenure or non-tenure track faculty appointment in a CSD department in an academic institution in the United States at the time of disbursement; primary responsibilities that include teaching and research; and fewer than six years of teaching/research experience or status below the level of associate professor.

    The Course Hero-Woodrow Wilson Fellowship for Excellence in Teaching will support rising stars in the academy who love teaching, demonstrate excellence as educators, and are making their mark as exceptional researchers, poised to shape their fields. Designed for young scholars working towards tenure, the Course Hero-WW Fellowship is a "genius grant" that will emphasize the balance between scholarly excellence and commitment to teaching practice that draws on new approaches to pedagogy, creating a new level of engagement for students in and beyond the classroom. In short, Fellows will be emerging heroes in their fields, on a clear trajectory to become great college educators. In its inaugural year, the Course Hero-WW Fellowship will identify five outstanding junior faculty members. Fellows will receive a one-year grant of $40,000-approximately $30,000 to support the engagement of a student assistant and the balance to be used for research and travel support. Exceptional candidates teach in ways that build student confidence and mastery of a subject; encourage critical thinking; explore foundational concepts through the lens of broader themes and global events; promote the power of learning communities beyond the classroom; leverage technology to complement the classroom experience; consider and serve different learning styles; prepare students for lifelong learning; and can serve as replicable teaching models for other educators. Selection takes place in June 2018. The five Fellows will be invited to attend the Course Hero Education Summit in July 2018, where their Fellowships will be announced.

    The Office of English Language Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces an open competition for proposals to advance the Bureau's objectives through support of academic exchanges that will result in the improvement of English teaching capacity around the world and the enhancement of mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through exchanges of U.S. English language educators to all regions of the world. The EL Fellow and Specialist Program builds bridges of mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through exchanges of U.S. English language educators. The EL Fellow and Specialist Program sends talented, highly qualified U.S. citizens in the area of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or a closely related field on approximately ten month Fellow exchanges or short-term (two-weeks or more) Specialist assignments at educational institutions in all regions of the world. Through U.S. embassy-designated projects, EL Fellows and Specialists share their expertise, build English teaching capacity abroad, hone their skills, and gain international experience. Upon returning to the United States, they share their experiences and acquired knowledge with their communities and professional colleagues. Projects are carried out with host country ministries of education, universities, teacher-training institutions, NGOs, binational centers, and other English language teaching institutions.

English Language Teacher Exchange - 0 views

    The project will promote the development of English language, classroom pedagogy, community engagement and leadership skills of the participants through first-hand experience and networking with English language teaching peers in the United States. Through teamwork activities, the program will develop participants' classroom, leadership, communication skills, and teacher trainer skills. In addition to enhancing the participants' ability to implement effective English language programs in Pakistan, the exchange program will provide participants a better understanding of the United States, its people, and its democratic values. By the end of the English Language Teaching Exchanges, approximately 50 Pakistani English language teachers from government or foundation schools from undeserved areas will further develop their pedagogic expertise in teaching English language, improve their own English language proficiency, and increase their knowledge about the United States.

    Proposals will be accepted for a minimum of $75,000 and a maximum of $100,000 to partner with RELO Pakistan to convene an "International English Language Teacher Education Forum" that will include presentations, workshops, and symposia on best practices in English Language Teaching (ELT) and the professional development of Pakistani English language teachers and researchers. The Forum will gather alumni from RELO programs and Pakistani English language teaching professionals across Pakistan from a cross-section of instructional and institutional levels to initiate and sustain meaningful professional dialogues. The Forum will also be a platform for the RELO to work with members of existing organizations (and/or parties interested in forming new associations) to reflect on the current status of professional English language teachers' associations in Pakistan. RELO Islamabad has a vested interest in an active and healthy professional teachers' organization in Pakistan. Teachers' associations can be important partners to identify need for programming, can act as conveners to facilitate programs that address needs, and can greatly extend the reach of RELO programs through a country-wide network. The applicant may administer sub-grants for regional conferences and assist in supporting the promotion of viable new and/or existing professional English teachers' associations in Pakistan.

Please carefully follow all instructions below. The U.S. Embassy in Moscow invites proposal submissions for a cooperative agreement to provide technical and logistical support for English Language Programming from the English Language Office (ELO) in Russia. Award recipients will consult closely with the English Language Officer in PAS Moscow throughout the development, implementation, and evaluation of each English Language Program. Each English Language Program professionally develops teachers, increases the English language skills of students, or assists an expert to professionally develop other teachers of English in Russia. These include, but are not limited to: Umbrella and National Association of Teachers' of English) NATE conferences, ETA support to visit English Access camps, Teacher Associations' and USG alumni support, travel of Russian English teachers to TESOL Convention and other international conferences, and targets of opportunity. The grantee will be responsible for providing logistical support during major ELO events and projects in Russia in the form of venue negotiations and arrangements, transportation, transfers, hotel and meal arrangements, purchasing of materials and supplies, and other technical and/or logistical support, as directed by PAS Moscow. The Grantee will be required to provide the Embassy with program account records on a regular basis.

    The Israeli Inter-University Academic Partnership in Russian and East European Studies is offering a small number of highly competitive postdoctoral fellowships in the field of Russian and East European Studies for the 2014-2015 academic year. These fellowships are offered to researchers across all disciplines in the fields of Humanities and Social Sciences, broadly defined, and will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence. Postdoctoral fellowships are offered to young scholars who have received their PhD degree no earlier than 2009 and no later than June 2014. The fellows will be selected by an international academic committee and then placed in one of the partner universities: Bar-Ilan University, Ben Gurion University of the Negev, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University, University of Haifa. Postdoctoral fellows will be awarded up to 87,500 NIS per year (equivalent to approximately $25,000). In some cases, the fellowships will entail a teaching commitment at the host university.

The successful applicant is expected to administer and conduct ESP courses at the intermediate and advanced levels to select employees of the MFA. The recipient will also be expected to administer TOEFL iBT prep courses. This project aims to provide MFA employees with the necessary language skills to communicate in English at the intermediate and advanced levels. The course will introduce topics and vocabulary relevant to foreign affairs professionals into the course curriculum. This is a 12-month project for 120 participants (60 participants per each 6-month semester) which will improve participants' overall English ability in terms of reading, listening, speaking, writing, and presentation skills.
