Digital Humanities Advancement Grants (DHAG) support digital projects throughout their lifecycles, from early start-up phases through implementation and long-term sustainability. Experimentation, reuse, and extensibility are hallmarks of this program, leading to innovative work that can scale to enhance scholarly research, teaching, and public programming in the humanities. Digital Humanities Advancement Grants may involve * creating or enhancing experimental, computationally-based methods, techniques, or infrastructure that contribute to the humanities; * pursuing scholarship that examines the history, criticism, and philosophy of digital culture and its impact on society, or explores the philosophical or practical implications and impact of digital humanities in specific fields or disciplines; or * revitalizing and/or recovering existing digital projects that promise to contribute substantively to scholarship, teaching, or public knowledge of the humanities.

"The Humanities Connections program seeks to expand the role of the humanities in undergraduate education at two- and four-year institutions.  Awards support innovative curricular approaches that foster productive partnerships among humanities faculty and their counterparts in the social and natural sciences and in pre-service or professional programs (such as business, engineering, health sciences, law, computer science, and other technology-driven fields), in order to encourage and develop new integrative learning opportunities for students. Competitive applications will demonstrate: that the proposed curricular projects expand the role of the humanities in addressing significant and compelling topics or issues in undergraduate education at the applicant institution(s) that these projects develop the intellectual skills and habits of mind cultivated by the humanities that faculty and students will benefit from meaningful collaborations in teaching and learning across disciplines as a result of the project Humanities Connections projects have four core features: substantive and purposeful integration of the subject matter, perspectives, and pedagogical approaches of two or more disciplines (with a minimum of one in and one outside of the humanities) collaboration between faculty from two or more separate departments or schools at one or more institutions experiential learning as an intrinsic part of the curricular plan long-term institutional support for the proposed curriculum innovation(s) The Humanities Connections program includes two categories: Planning and Implementation."

Humanities Connections grants seek to expand the role of the humanities in the undergraduate curriculum at two- and four-year institutions, offering students in all academic fields new opportunities to develop the intellectual skills and habits of mind that the humanities cultivate. Grant projects focus on connecting the resources and perspectives of the humanities to students' broader educational and professional goals, regardless of their path of study. Through this new grant program, NEH invites proposals that reflect innovative and imaginative approaches to preparing students for their roles as engaged citizens and productive professionals in a rapidly changing and interdependent world. Grants support the development and implementation of an integrated set of courses and student engagement activities focusing on significant humanities content. A common topic, theme, or compelling issue or question must link the courses and activities. The linked courses (a minimum of three) may fulfill general education or core curriculum requirements but could also be designed primarily for students in a particular major or course of study. To provide greater pathways to economic and social mobility, we must recognize how many factors influence a person's ability to access opportunity and that one sector alone can't address all social problems. From our experience with human services organizations and networks, we continue to learn about the best approaches that can be replicated and shared across the field. We want to help these groundbreaking ideas enter the mainstream at the state and national level and encourage collaboration across multiple sectors including the public sector, private sector, philanthropy and nonprofit organizations.  By working with our partners, we have the ability to create integrated and more flexible financing such as Pay for Success initiatives as well as more supportive policies, rules and regulations for the field while encouraging cross-sector collaboration.

The program supports the study and discussion of important humanities sources about war, in the belief that these sources can help U.S. military veterans and others to think more deeply about the issues raised by war and military service. The humanities sources can be drawn from history, philosophy, literature, and film-and they may and should be supplemented by testimonials from those who have served. The discussions are intended to promote serious exploration of important questions about the nature of duty, heroism, suffering, loyalty, and patriotism.

Collaborative Research Grants support interpretive humanities research undertaken by a team of two or more scholars, for full-time or part-time activities for periods of one to three years. Support is available for various combinations of scholars, consultants, and research assistants; project-related travel; field work; applications of information technology; and technical support and services. All grantees are expected to communicate the results of their work to the appropriate scholarly and public audiences. Eligible projects include ¿ research that significantly adds to knowledge and understanding of the humanities; ¿ conferences on topics of major importance in the humanities that will benefit scholarly research; ¿ archaeological projects that include the interpretation and communication of results (projects may encompass excavation, materials analysis, laboratory work, field reports, and preparation of interpretive monographs); and ¿ research that uses the knowledge and perspectives of the humanities and historical or philosophical methods to enhance understanding of science, technology, medicine, and the social sciences.

The National Endowment for the Humanities offers the Dialogues on the Experience of War (Dialogues) program as part of its current initiative, Standing Together: The Humanities and the Experience of War. The program supports the study and discussion of important humanities sources about war, in the belief that these sources can help U.S. military veterans and others think more deeply about the issues raised by war and military service. Dialogues is primarily designed to reach military veterans; however, men and women in active service, military families, and interested members of the public may also participate. The program makes awards of up to $100,000 to support * the convening of at least two sustained discussion programs for no fewer than fifteen participants; and * the creation of a preparatory program to recruit and train program discussion leaders (NEH Discussion Leaders). Preparatory training and discussion programs may take place in veterans' centers, at public libraries or cultural centers, on college and university campuses, and at other community venues. The discussion programs should comprise multiple meetings that are long enough to allow participants to engage in deep and inclusive discussion.

The goal of the FY 2018 Native American Library Services Basic Grants Program is to support existing library operations and maintain core library services. Effective for this FY 2018 Native American Library Services Basic Grants Program, there is no separate Education/Assessment Option. Funding for tribal library staff to: attend library-related continuing education courses or training workshops; attend or give presentations at conferences related to library services; and/or hire a consultant for an onsite professional library assessment should be included in the Library Services Plan and the Budget. No more than $3,000 of the total $10,000 may be allotted for education/assessment activities or travel. For this FY 2018 Native American Library Services Basic Grants Program, Basic Grants are only available for a one year period.

A new funding program is proposed to accelerate the testing, evaluation, and implementation of innovative approaches to human services interoperability and data sharing. Funding would support local or state pilot projects to identify effective and efficient solutions, and develop model practices for broader adoption. The goal is to provide agencies with resources and technical support to experiment and innovate, particularly in challenge areas previously identified by the states through the ACF regional meeting and ReImagine HHS initiatives. OPRE technical assistance will also be provided to grantees to help document outcomes and promote replication. Providing agencies with financial incentives and directed assistance, even moderate in scope, can often have an outsized impact on efforts to strengthen and modernize service delivery. Save America's Treasures grants from the Historic Preservation Fund provide preservation and/or conservation assistance to nationally significant historic properties and collections. Grants are awarded through a competitive process and require a dollar-for-dollar, non-Federal match, which can be cash or documented in-kind. These grants are administered by the National Park Service in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Recipient will develop humanities-based curriculum for use at YRRP events and other Reserve Component (RC) events. This curriculum should be developed and delivered by a program team of expert researchers and trained facilitators with structural ties to the military community and Federal Service Academies (e.g., United States Navy Academy, United States Military Academy, etc.). Likewise, the Recipient should have experience and capability in coordinating dialogue between Service members using sources in philosophy, history, poetry, and literature to spur discussion over moral, spiritual, and psychological injuries. These dialogue sessions should have the goal of affecting positive changes in the wellbeing and quality of life of RC members and their families. Trained facilitators should lead each discussion, and source material should range from antiquity to the present.

The Star Scholars Network recognizes the commitment of concerned people able and willing to make a difference in the lives of others. Nominations for this award are solicited from around the world. The nominee can be from any field. Beginning in 2020, the Star Scholars Network is committed to promoting transnational research, or collaborative research between scholars of two or more countries (e.g., joint publications, research partnerships, etc.). The Global Connections Awards recognize STAR Scholars for their achievements and distinctive contributions to translational research that demonstrates the very best of scholarly collaboration among scholars around the world.
