The goal of the intended FOA is to establish a Coordinating Center (CC) for PRS Methods and Analysis for Populations of Diverse Ancestry to provide centralized support, infrastructure, coordination, and data analysis for the program collaboratively generate and refine PRS for populations of diverse ancestry by integrating existing datasets with genomic and phenotype data for a range of complex diseases and traits. Together with PRS Centers (described in a separate FOA), grantees funded under the intended FOA will form a Consortium with the primary objectives of: 1) leveraging genetic diversity to develop methods and improve the applicability of PRS to predict health and disease risk across diverse populations, and for a broad range of health and disease measures; and 2) optimizing the integration of large-scale, harmonized genomic and phenotype data to facilitate collaborative analysis, dissemination of PRS-related data, and development of related methods and resources.

In fulfilment of its 2019-2023 programme strategy, the Palestinian Museum (PM) launches its first programme of research and civic engagement. They include but are not limited to book launches, literary events, symposia, panel discussions, workshops, tours, film screenings, an exhibition related conference, and two original publications to document the annual discursive and scholarly outputs, as well as conference proceedings and papers. The research programme aims at driving civic and intellectual engagement, producing and disseminating knowledge about Palestine, and filling knowledge gaps about Palestinian history and culture.

At this year's conference of the Research Centre for European Classicism, the focus will be on the Weimar as well as on the Viennesse Classicism. How are those two epochs connected and refer to the same justification context? And to which extent are they the reference for the literature and musical historiography in the 19th century? The implications of the contruction of those epochs will be central at this conference. 

The National Historical Publications and Records Commission seeks proposals that strengthen the nation's archival network through activities undertaken by state historical records advisory boards. The purpose of this grant program is to assist state boards to broaden preservation of, and increased online access to, historical records; develop and promote best practices; support activities that put the American people in touch with primary sources in their communities and online; promote the institutional advancement of organizations in underserved communities; and assist locally based repositories with training and tools to improve their stewardship abilities. The Commission will award grants to state historical records advisory boards to: * Operate state-based regrant programs that preserve historical records and make them available online * Provide educational and outreach programs, workshops, and other activities that enhance citizen and student engagement with historical records * Offer scholarships, training opportunities, and other programs that support institutional advancement among records repositories, especially those in underserved communities * Collaborate on projects with other organizations to address common problems or shared opp

The goal of this program is to provide access to, and editorial context for, the historical documents and records that tell the American story. Applicants should demonstrate familiarity with the best practices recommended by the Association for Documentary Editing (ADE) or the Modern Language Association (MLA) Committee on Scholarly Editions . All new projects (those which have never received NHPRC funding) must have definitive plans for publishing and preserving a digital edition which provides online access to a searchable, fully-transcribed and annotated collection of documents. New projects may also prepare print editions (including ebooks and searchable PDFs posted online) as part of their overall publishing plan, but the contents of those volumes must be published in a fully-searchable digital edition within a reasonable period of time following print publication. The American Institute of the History of Pharmacy wishes to encourage academic research within its scope. Therefore it offers a grant-in-aid of up to $2,000 to a graduate student to reinforce historical investigations of some aspect of pharmacy, whether ancient or modern, to pay research expenses not normally met by the university granting the degree. Any dissertation project devoted to the history of pharmacy, history of drugs, or other humanistic study utilizing a pharmaco-historical approach, is eligible if based in an institution of higher learning of the USA. Applications postmarked by February 1, 2020, will be evaluated at that time. Applications thereafter will be considered individually if or when funds are available.

The Public Affairs Section of the Embassy of the United States in Panama announces an open competition for organizations to submit funding applications for a project to highlight the shared history of the United States and Panama through the identification and promotion of relevant historical sites. Please carefully follow all instructions below. Project Objectives: This project aims to promote U.S. national interests through the development of stronger support among the people of Panama. Ideal partners include organizations that are familiar with U.S.-Panamanian history that can demonstrate the ability to produce high-quality results that will reach a large audience. Project Description: This project will identify and carry out strategies to highlight the shared history between the United States and Panama, ideally through the installation of physical markers, signs, or plaques at locations of significance to U.S.-Panamanian history in Panama City and/or throughout the country. The project will produce a brochure-style guide map or series of maps featuring the important U.S.-Panamanian historical sites in the country/city. The project will facilitate wide distribution of the materials to the general public in order to educate Panamanian residents on this shared history. Grant funding may be used for all program expenses, including but not limited to design, installation, and printing of markers and brochures, and related personnel costs, within policy limits.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The U.S. Embassy Moscow Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce funding is available through our Public Diplomacy Grants Program. This Annual Program Statement outlines our funding priorities, strategic themes, and the procedure for submitting requests for funding. Applications for programs are accepted on a rolling basis until the deadline (June 15, 2020). This deadline is necessary to provide sufficient time to process and award programs before the end of our fiscal year on September 30, 2020. Applicants may apply for funding between $500 and $24,000 (the small grants program). Using the same application, you may also apply for funding up to $75,000 (the large grants program), although the number of large grants awarded each year is extremely limited. Please carefully follow all instructions below. Please use the grant application document and budget template found on our website. Purpose of APS Grants: PAS Moscow invites proposals for projects that strengthen ties between the United States and Russia through concrete demonstrations of cooperation between our two peoples. All grant proposals must convey an element of American history, culture, or shared values. Competitive proposals should support a priority program area (see below). Competitive proposals should also include a connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s that will promote increased cooperation between the people of the United States and Russia even after the program has finished.

Michigan State University Libraries invites applications for research grants for the summer of 2020. The grants are intended to help scholars who live more than 100 miles from East Lansing whose research would benefit from on-site access to the rich primary source collections housed in MSU Libraries' Special Collections. The 2020 grants are made possible through the generous support of Char Mollison and MSU Libraries Special Collections Endowment. Five grants of $3,000 will be awarded based on the overall promise of the research project and the significance of MSU's Special Collections to the work. The on-site research period must run for at least one week between May 1 and September 30 of the year awarded. Research strengths of MSU Special Collections are deep and varied, including an outstanding comic art collection; American radicalism on the extreme right and left; extensive holdings on Latino and Chicano activism and artists; popular culture; zines, Africana; exceptional rare book holdings in cookery, the history of science, veterinary medicine, Italian unification, conduct books; one of the country's oldest LGBTQ+ collections; a peerless collection documenting the contemporary men's movements; and the papers of numerous Michigan writers including Richard Ford, and Diane Wakoski. The Mellon Emerging Faculty Leaders Award supports tenure-track faculty who have passed their midpoint review. The award is structured to free the time of junior faculty who have passed their midpoint tenure review-including those from underrepresented groups and others committed to eradicating disparities in their fields-so that they can both engage in and build support systems, networks, and affinity groups that make their fields and campuses more inclusive. Eligible applicants must have passed their third-year review or their institution's equivalent.

The Oberlin College Archives established the Frederick B. Artz Summer Research Grants Program in 1990. This research program, which is made possible by a grant from the Oberlin Historical and Improvement Organization, is intended to encourage and facilitate the publication of scholarly, humanistic studies based on archival and special collections sources at Oberlin College, with special emphasis on the history of the institution, Oberlin Community and liberal arts education. Studies of a local nature involving the resources of both archival and special collections departments are especially encouraged. 

The National Endowment for the Humanities Division of Public Programs is currently accepting proposals for the Public Humanities Projects program. The Public Humanities Projects program supports projects that bring the ideas and insights of the humanities to life for general audiences through in-person programming. Projects must engage humanities scholarship to analyze significant themes in disciplines such as history, literature, ethics, and art history.

Through its Fellowship Programs, the Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation's college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.

The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS) is offering semester-long sabbaticals for the study, research, and teaching of classical liberal ideas including private property, free speech, individual rights, open markets and other precepts. Sabbatical fellowships will be offered in the 2020-2021 academic years, and sabbaticals must be taken during the designated periods. Both tenured and tenure track may apply. IHS traditionally works with academics in the fields of economics, political science, philosophy, history, and law, however scholars in other disciplines are welcome to apply.  Fellowships will be given at two levels: $50,000 and $85,000. Awards are not limited to tenured faculty. Faculty at any stage of their career may apply. Academics looking to complete book projects or articles as part of a tenure application or promotion dossier are especially encouraged to apply.

The DePaul University Humanities Center (DHC) is inviting applications for Visiting Fellows for 2020-2021. All applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent, and research projects must be in the humanities. International applications will be considered. Fellowships may run for nine months (from September 2020 to June 2021) or six months (from January 2021 to June 2021). During their tenure, Visiting Fellows are required to make an intellectual contribution to the DePaul community and participate in the programming and activities of the DHC and the university. We are especially interested in applications that involve a project around the theme of "Age," broadly construed. All applications regardless of topic will be considered, but preference will be given to applicants who draw connections between their proposed project and the 2020-21 DHC theme, "Age." NB: The DHC will be hosting events that touch on such topics as the analog age and the era of cassette tapes; child liberation; birth & infancy; the juvenile justice system; the gendering of age; childhood, games, and gaming; and sexuality and privacy in the golden years. Ultimately, we are interested in interdisciplinary, creative, innovative projects that take up the theme of "Age."

The National Park Service's (NPS) African American Civil Rights Grant Program (AACR) will document, interpret, and preserve the sites related to the African American struggle to gain equal rights as citizens in the 20th Century. The NPS 2008 report, "Civil Rights in America, A Framework for Identifying Significant Sites," will serve as the reference document in determining the appropriateness of proposed projects and properties. AACR Grants are funded by the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF), administered by the NPS, and will fund a broad range of preservation projects for historic sites including: architectural services, historic structure reports, preservation plans, and physical preservation to structures. Grants are awarded through a competitive process and do not require non-Federal match. There are separate funding announcements for physical preservation projects and for historical research/documentation projects. Funding announcement P20AS00001 is for physical preservation of historic sites only; P20AS00002 is for historical research/documentation projects only. The National Council for Eurasian and East European Research (NCEEER) welcomes applications to its National Research Competition and Short Term Travel Grant programs for research on and travel to Eurasia and Eastern Europe. Through its fellowships and travel grants, the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation supports research projects that present creative approaches to the study of invention and innovation in American society. Projects may include (but are not limited to) historical research and documentation projects resulting in dissertations, publications, exhibitions, educational initiatives, documentary films, or other multimedia products.

The Council for European Studies is this year holding its 50th Anniversary meeting in Reykjavik, Iceland from the 22nd to the 24th of June 2020. The CES membership has traditionally been primarily centered around the Global North. On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Council for European Studies (CES) and the World Society Foundation (WSF) are committed to engaging participants from traditionally underrepresented  communities by awarding a limited number of travel grants covering airfare and accommodation to researchers from Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The year 2020 marks a moment for reflection, given recent and ongoing changes in the boundaries of European citizenship, the fragile institutional arrangements of the European social model, the postcolonial analysis of Europe in the world, the population dynamics that define who is European, Europe's changing relationships with other regions and parts of world society, including the Global South, and the configuration of global hegemony. 

The Japanese American Confinement Sites Grant Program provides financial assistance to organizations and entities working to preserve historic Japanese American confinement sites and their history, including private nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, state, local, and tribal governments, and other public entities, for the preservation and interpretation of U.S. confinement sites where Japanese Americans were detained during World War II. The authorizing legislation for the Japanese American Confinement Sites Grant Program identifies up to 38 million dollars for the entire life of the grant program for projects to identify, research, evaluate, interpret, protect, restore, repair, and acquire historic confinement sites in order that present and future generations may learn and gain inspiration from these sites and that these sites will demonstrate the Nations commitment to equal justice under the law.
