The Nathan Cummings Foundation (NCF) Fellowship awards three individuals with up to $150,000 to turn an inspired idea in the field of social justice into a reality. The program is designed for emergent leaders who have limited access to institutional philanthropy and whose work is traditionally underfunded. NCF welcomes a diverse pool of applicants representing practitioners in a variety of fields. Applicants should demonstrate a deep understanding and clear analysis of the field in which they work. They should also have a history of success in this field but still be positioned to benefit from the Foundation' support. The topic of a Fellow's project should generally align with the Foundation's focus on climate change and inequality. It should aim to transform the systems and mindsets that hinder progress toward a more sustainable and equitable future for all people, particularly women and people of color. The Foundation is also interested in innovative approaches that cut across these areas. Applicants should have a clear idea of the project's goal(s), audience, and impact on community. They should also demonstrate an understanding of the timeline and resources needed to execute their work. Proposed projects might include the creation of a product such as a book or report; a public hearing or presentation; a launch of an initiative or nonprofit organization; an art piece; or other creative work products.

Achieving racial equity and justice in the United States requires a sustained, multipronged intersectional policy approach that addresses both the immediate social conditions leading to poor health outcomes, but also the long-standing structures fostering such conditions. The goal of the Policies for Action call for proposals is to build the evidence base about how national, state, and local policies can improve racial equity in health and well-being in the United States.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) aims to support research to strengthen the healthcare response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and future public health emergencies, including pandemics. While research related to the direct clinical effects of COVID-19 are supported by other funding opportunities, the purpose of this funding opportunity is to focus on the role and impact of digital health interventions [e.g., mobile health (mhealth), telemedicine and telehealth, health information technology (IT), and wearable devices] to address access, reach, delivery, effectiveness, scalability and sustainability of health assessments and interventions for secondary effects (e.g., behavioral health or self-management of chronic conditions) that are utilized during and following the pandemic, particularly in populations who experience health disparities and vulnerable populations.

The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement is to support (1) research to test the efficacy or effectiveness of interventions to prevent initiation and/or escalation of ENDS (electronic nicotine delivery system) use among adolescents; and(2 )research on the impact of tobacco control policies, including ENDS-specific policies, on adolescent ENDS use behavior. Of priority is research that is theoretically based and identifies specific risk and protective factors to target through prevention intervention, or research on policies that can impact adolescent ENDS use. Particularly, for prevention intervention research (e.g., school, community, and clinic-based), collaboration with stakeholders and likely program adopters is required to ensure feasibility for implementation, scalability, dissemination and sustainability. For this funding announcement, individuals as young as 12 and as old as 18 encompass the core target age range. Justification for the specific age or age range of the target population is required, including studies that propose targeting youth outside the core age range.

This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Rural Health Care Services Outreach Program (Outreach Program). The Outreach Program is a community-based grant program aimed towards promoting rural health care services by enhancing health care delivery to rural underserved populations in the local community or region. Through consortia of local health care and social service providers, communities can develop innovative approaches to challenges related to the specific health needs in rural areas that expand clinical and service capacity in rural communities. The overarching goals for the Outreach Program are to: * Expand the delivery of health care services to include new and enhanced services exclusively in rural communities; * Deliver health care services through a strong consortium, in which every consortium member organization is actively involved and engaged in the planning and delivery of services; * Utilize community engagement and evidence-based or innovative, evidence informed model(s) in the delivery of health care services; and * Improve population health, and demonstrate health outcomes and sustainability In addition to funding Outreach programs through the Regular Outreach track, in FY 21, FORHP will also afford applicants a unique opportunity to take part in a national effort that targets rural health disparities through a second track called the "Healthy Rural Hometown Initiative."

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) seeks clinical research on self-management interventions and technologies that improve health and quality of life in persons needing assistance to optimize and maintain existing functional capabilities, prevent/delay disabilities and navigate their environment. The research focus encompasses maintenance/restorative care that can be tailored to individuals' existing functional abilities and interests and is intended to enhance physical, sensory, motor, and mental capabilities.  Of particular interest is research designed to maintain functional capabilities in such conditions as cardiac and respiratory insufficiency, movement impairment associated with arthritis, chronic back pain, stroke, and other physical or cognitive disabilities.

The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to provide technical assistance (TA) to the Government of Kenya (GOK) and PEPFAR implementing partners in strengthening medical laboratory systems for diagnosis, management, and surveillance of HIV, TB and other related opportunistic diseases. Up to five grantees will be selected. Each will work in one of four specific regions (A, B, C and D) covering several counties to support all technical areas described below in each region. Except, the grantee supporting Region A will additionally support laboratory systems at National Public Health Laboratory Services and Ministry of Health (MOH) headquarters. The grantee(s) will: (1) Provide technical assistance to develop laboratory policies and systems for sample handling/processing, laboratory networking, information management, supplies management, human capacity development, biosafety, quality management systems (QMS), and monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

Through the program, general support grants of up to $7,000 as well as funding for specific projects will be awarded to nonprofits working in one or more of the foundation's five focus areas - promoting Earth's beauty and bounty; creating a robust, healthy food system; increasing opportunities for outdoor activity; reducing environmental health hazards; and building stronger communities. Preference will be given to organizations that can demonstrate a clearly defined objective and a viable plan to achieve it, and that operate at the community level and have strong community ties. Organizations also must promote positive change through both their project and the implementation process.

The purpose of ACCESS activity is to build the capacity of Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) actors at the district level and below in all districts in the implementation regions, to design, develop, manage, deliver, monitor and evaluate health services and programs in their catchment areas. The activity will also engage with regional health authorities with limited interventions to ensure coordination, planning and effective management of health activities in their districts. Work at the national level will focus on informing policy, guideline development, as well as advocacy on key health service delivery issues. ACCESS will work to improve the clinical skills and health governance skills of primary health care providers to deliver high quality, accessible preventive and curative health services. To expand the reach of the public health system, the activity will work to improve the skills and motivation of community health volunteers to deliver quality health services and ensure they work under the supervision of their respective CSB. Finally, ACCESS will promote positive health behaviors, including care seeking behaviors in the target communities through a comprehensive and contextualized social and behavior change (SBC) approach and improve the capacity of the MOPH and local institutions to design, implement, and monitor and evaluate SBC activities.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications from eligible institutions of higher education for specialized center grants to support multidisciplinary research, research capacity building, and community-engaged research activities focused on understanding and reducing or eliminating environmental health disparities, defined as inequities in population health mediated by disproportionate adverse exposures associated with the physical, chemical, social and built environments.

Subject to funding availability, STAR is a five-year cooperative agreement. The Office of Professional Development and Management Support within the Bureau for Global Health will manage the Award. The Award covers all core-funded activities under this Agreement, and may receive both USAID core and field support funds, from a variety of accounts and earmarks. Applicants are encouraged to propose creative collaborative partnerships with other USG agencies and/or international organizations, NGOs, private voluntary organizations, and firms to implement activities under this program. Proposing at least one new partner in response to this NFO is also highly desirable. "New partners" are defined as organizations that have never received Bureau for Global Health funding as either a direct or sub-recipient. Under this definition, organizations that have been directly funded by a USAID Mission bilateral program or have received USAID Regional Bureau funding will be considered a new partner. Through this funding opportunity, the Administration on Aging (AoA), part of the Administration for Community Living (ACL), plans to award 2-3 cooperative agreements to domestic public or private non-profit entities. The intent of these awards is to strengthen integrated networks that address the behavioral and social determinants of health of older adults and adults with disabilities, and increase the number of these individuals who participate in evidence-based chronic disease self-management education and self-management support programs. Goal 1: Strengthen integrated state or regional networks that address the social and behavioral determinants of health of older adults and adults with disabilities. Goal 2: Significantly increase the number of older adults and adults with disabilities who participate in chronic disease self-management education and self-management support programs.

Goal 2: Significantly increase the number of older adults and adults with disabilities who participate in evidence-based community programs to reduce falls and falls risk.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) supports pilot work in support of subsequent  studies testing the effectiveness of strategies to deliver evidence-based mental health services, treatment interventions, and/or preventive interventions (EBPs) in low-resource mental health specialty and non- specialty settings within the United States. The FOA targets settings where EBPs are not currently delivered or delivered with fidelity, such that there are disparities in mental health and related functional outcomes (e.g., employment, educational attainment, stable housing, integration in the community, treatment of co-morbid substance use disorders, etc.) for the population(s) served. Implementation strategies should identify and use innovative approaches to remediate barriers to provision, receipt, and/or benefit from EBPs and generate new information about factors integral to achieving equity in mental health outcomes for under-served populations. Research generating new information about factors causing/reducing disparities is strongly encouraged, including due consideration for the needs of individuals across the life span.
