USAID/KEA anticipates awarding a five-year cooperative agreement (CA) whose purpose is to sustainably reduce hunger, malnutrition and poverty in Kenya by focusing on (i) inclusive and sustainable agriculture-led growth; (ii) strengthened resilience among people and systems and (iii) a well-nourished population. The proposed Funding Opportunity Announcement supports the provision of technical assistance and training to National Comprehensive Cancer Control grantees and their coalitions by national organizations with demonstrated capacities and expertise in chronic disease prevention and health promotion. This effort will contribute to the full adoption of evidence-based and promising comprehensive cancer control interventions in the areas of primary prevention, screening, and survivorship. This effort also aims to improve comprehensive cancer control program capacity to expand the reach of the target audience, efficiently use resources, increase competence and commitment for health action and change, and increase ability to respond to emerging health issues.

NIH announces the launch of the 2018-2019 Niche Assessment Program available to HHS (NIH, CDC, FDA) SBIR and STTR Phase I awardees and Phase I Fast-Track awardees (by grant or contract). The Niche Assessment program provides a third party, unbiased assessment of appropriate market niches for products/services that are being developed by HHS SBIR/STTR Phase I awardees and is carried out by Foresight Science & Technology on behalf of NIH. Using its Technology Niche Analysis® (TNA®), Foresight will perform the due diligence on markets appropriate for each SBIR technology and develop an in-depth report for each SBIR/STTR awardee that addresses: --needs and concerns of end-users --competing technologies and competing products --competitive advantage of the SBIR/STTR-developed technology --market size and potential market share (may include national and/or global markets) --barriers to market entry (may include, but is not limited to pricing, competition, government regulations, manufacturing challenges, capital requirements, etc.) --market drivers --status of market and industry trends --potential customers, licensees, investors, or other commercialization partners --price customers are likely to pay

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications that propose basic, clinical, or translational research on underactive bladder (UAB) and detrusor underactivity (DU) and its consequences in aging and in older persons. Applications should focus on the 1) biology, etiology and pathophysiology of DU or UAB in animal models and/or older adults; 2) translation of basic/clinical research into clinical practice and health decision-making; 3) diagnosis, prevention, management and clinical outcomes of UAB in older adults; and/or 4) epidemiology and risk factors for the development of DU/UAB with advancing age. The R21 mechanism is intended to encourage exploratory and developmental research projects by providing support for the early and conceptual stages of these projects. Research supported by this initiative should enhance knowledge of DU/UAB and its consequences in older adults and provide evidence-based guidance in the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of DU/UAB in older persons. The purpose of this program is to help states develop and implement innovative programs to address the dental workforce needs of designated dental health professional shortage areas (Dental HPSAs) in a manner appropriate to each state's individual needs. The aim is to encourage and support state innovation that will increase oral health services for populations living in Dental HPSAs and to sustain those programs that increase the accessibility and quality of oral health services within Dental HPSAs.

These administrative supplements provide funds to awarded P30 Environmental Health Sciences Core Centers to enhance interactions across Centers to address emerging issues and to advance research, translational research, and community engagement.

Access to quality assured diagnostics and laboratory services is critical to the effective diagnosis, treatment, and management of HIV and other HIV-related diseases, including TB. Achieving an AIDS-Free Generation and the UNAIDS 90-90-90 targets requires establishment and operationalization of laboratory and diagnostic networks, including strong and sustainable collaborations with partners.To date, PEPFAR-supported laboratory and integrated diagnostic network strengthening efforts have led to improved access to the quality diagnostic and patient monitoring services required to support the HIV clinical cascade. However, work remains to establish and maintain the partnerships and collaborations required to support these efforts. This NOFO will focus on building and strengthening sustainable networks and partnerships to support laboratory systems, policies, and data use in PEPFAR-supported countries; improving in-service laboratory safety and science competencies through quality training for laboratory professionals; collaborations across partner organizations, laboratory professionals, and clinicians; strengthened public health laboratory and diagnostic network capacity, quality, and functionality; and improved access to high quality and effective technical assistance (TA) resources.
