Echoing Green will provide more than $4.6 million in unrestricted seed-stage funding and strategic foundational support this year to emerging leaders working to bring about positive social change. Over the past three decades, our total investment is over $40 million to more than 700 world-class leaders. We don't just invest in business plans. We believe that showing future generations how sustainable food is grown changes their lives. When you eat Annie's, you support food education and make healthy gardens accessible to hundreds of students across the country. Connecting kids to gardens helps them to start thinking more holistically about their food, their communities, and the planet. We've seen firsthand how that exciting and inspiring that is for them.

Funds may be used to pay expenses associated with providing technical assistance and/or training (TAT) to identify and evaluate solutions to water problems relating to source, storage, treatment, or distribution; to identify and evaluate solutions to waste problems relating to collection, treatment, or disposal; assist applicants that have filed a pre-application with RUS in the preparation of water and/or waste loan and/or grant applications; and to provide training that will improve the management, operation, and maintenance of water and waste disposal facilities. Grant funds may not be used to recruit applications, duplicate current services such as those performed by a consultant in developing a project, fund political activities, pay for capital assets, purchase real estate or vehicles, improve or renovate office space or repair and maintain privately owned property, pay for construction or O&M costs, and pay costs incurred prior to the effective date of grants made.

The Strong Foundation for Environmental Values awards grants in support of activities that instill an ecological ethic in the individual and communities, and that encourage grassroots environmental action. One-year grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded in support of environmental projects situated in California, with a focus on Northern California, the Central Valley, or the Sierra Nevada, including the entire California-Oregon Klamath River watershed and the watersheds that arise in the Sierras and terminate in Nevada's terminal lakes. The foundation's definition of Northern California extends from the Oregon border in the north down to and ending at the San Luis Obispo, Ventura, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino county lines in the south. Projects should involve environmental and conservation efforts, eco-spirituality, grassroots action, environmental education, capacity building, citizen participation, collaborative efforts, innovative programs, land acquisition, and/or planning and training. Climate change programs at the community level are also encouraged.

OIA's Brown Treesnake Control Program funding focuses on preventing the dispersal of this invasive species from Guam to other geographic areas and funding research in support of population suppression with the ultimate goal of eradication.

Lucozade Ribena Suntory is seeking solutions to increase the recycling of single-use drinking straw and wrapper. They are open to early-stage ideas and solutions that are more mature.

The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund was established to provide grants to individual species conservation initiatives, recognize leaders in the field, and elevate the importance of species in the broader conservation debate. To that end, grants of up to $25,000 will be awarded in support of plant, animal and fungi species conservation efforts without restriction on the basis of region or species. Priority will be given to in situ species conservation work, but the fund will consider an ex situ project where it is demonstrated to be critical to the survival of the species concerned. The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) intends to issue, on behalf of the Solar Energy Technology Office, a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) entitled "Advanced Systems Integration for Solar Technologies". This FOA supports the mission of the Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) which is to support early-stage research and development to improve the performance and flexibility of solar technologies that contribute to a reliable and resilient U.S. electric grid. The office invests in innovative research efforts that securely integrate more solar energy into the grid, enhance the use, storage and dispatch of solar energy, and lower solar electricity costs. DOE is committed to improving the affordability of energy technologies and strengthening the Energy Sector's capability to withstand cyber and physical threats, including natural disasters. Improving the strategic location and situational awareness of solar systems can help ensure continuity of service in the face of widespread and coordinated threats. Developing innovative approaches to accelerate the transfer of solar system solutions that will improve Energy Sector resilience is also a priority.

The Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Office of Subsistence Management (OSM) administers the Partners for Fisheries Monitoring Program (Partners Program). OSM is seeking proposals for the Partners Program that strengthen Alaska Native and rural involvement in Federal subsistence management. The Partners Program is a competitive grant that is directed at providing funding for biologists, social scientists and outreach/educator positions in Alaska Native and rural nonprofit organizations with the intent of increasing the organizations ability to participate in Federal subsistence management. In addition, the program supports a variety of opportunities for local, rural students to connect with subsistence resource monitoring and management through science camps and paid internships.

The purpose of this document is to advise the public that NOAA/NOS/National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science/Competitive Research Program, in partnership with NOAA's Office of National Marine Sanctuaries and Office of Ocean Exploration and Research, is soliciting proposals under the Regional Ecosystem Prediction Program for a project up to five years in duration to conduct research to improve the understanding of population connectivity of key mesophotic coral ecosystem species in the Hawaiian Archipelago. This information will be used to improve the ability of resource managers to proactively develop strategies to manage and protect poorly understood mesophotic coral ecosystems and provide insight into regional ecosystem connectivity. Funding is contingent upon the availability of Fiscal Year 2019 Federal appropriations. If funds become available for this program, one project is expected to be supported for up to five years, with an approximate annual budget of up to $1,000,000.

EPA's P3 - People, Prosperity and the Planet - Program is a unique competition that is open to teams of college/university students working to design solutions for a sustainable future. P3 offers students hands-on experience that brings their classroom learning to life, while also allowing them to create tangible changes in their communities. This annual, two-phased research grants program challenges students to research, develop, and design innovative projects that address real world challenges involving all areas of environmental protection and public health. Phase I serves as a "proof of concept," where teams are awarded a one-year grant of up to $25,000 to develop their idea and showcase their research in the spring at EPA's National Student Design Expo (NSDE). These teams are then eligible to compete for a Phase II grant of up to $100,000 to implement their design in a real world setting. P3 aims to foster progress towards environmental awareness by achieving the symbiotic goals of improved quality of life for all people, economic prosperity, and protection of the planet - people, prosperity and the planet.

The purpose of this Notice is to provide potential applicants advance notice that the Department of Energy plans to issue Funding Opportunity Announcement number DE-FOA-0001993 titled University Turbine Systems Research (UTSR). PLEASE NOTE NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGH THIS NOTICE. Please do not submit questions or respond to this Notice of Intent. Prospective applicants to the funding opportunity announcement should begin developing partnerships, formulating ideas, and gathering data in anticipation of the issuance of this announcement. It is anticipated that this funding opportunity announcement will be posted to grants.gov and FedConnect (www.fedconnect.net) in November 2018.

The U.S. Forest Service supports Moving Toward Shared Stewardship Across Landscapes as part of a conceptual framework for making strategic investments across landscapes to co-manage wildfire risk and achieve positive outcomes at the most appropriate scale. Within this framework, The Northeastern Area Cohesive Fire Strategy Competitive Request for Applications is designed to support and carry out the goals of the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy (NCS) across the Midwestern and Northeastern States as well as meet the intent of the current year budget direction. These national goals are: Restore and Maintain Landscapes: Landscapes across all jurisdictions are resilient to fire-related disturbances in accordance with management objectives. Create Fire Adapted Communities: Human populations and infrastructure can withstand a wildfire without loss of life and property. Improve Wildfire Response: All jurisdictions participate in making and implementing safe, effective, efficient risk-based wildfire management decisions.

The Fox River Green Bay Natural Resource Trustees restore natural resources injured by the release of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) into the Lower Fox River and Green Bay, WI. The Trustees allocate funding, provided by settlement dollars from responsible parties, to restoration projects that fulfill the natural resource objectives of the 2003 Joint Restoration Plan and Environmental Assessment for The Lower Fox River and Green Bay Area and the 2016 Restoration Plan Update under the authority of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act. A copy of the Restoration Plan and Update can be found at foxrivernrda.org or provided by the agency contact by request. This is not a conventional grants program, in that it does not solicit for projects through a formal request for proposals on Grants.gov; instead, project idea forms are developed strategically in coordination with the Trustee Council. Projects that are funded through the NRDA program must be within the PCB affected area and must replace, restore, or acquire the equivalent of natural resources injured by the release of PCBs. Projects undergo a selection process based on the criteria outlined in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). Following the review process, if a project is selected a grant will be awarded. The Service will also award single source grant agreements based on the criteria outlined in Section VI without competition under justification 505DM 2.14.B.4 as appropriate. This award will utilize grants and cooperative agreements; in the situation where a cooperative agreement is awarded the Service will be substantially involved in the project.

The Division of Chemical, Bioengineering and Environmental Transport (CBET) in the Engineering Directorate of the National Science Foundation (NSF) is partnering with The Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) to solicit research projects in the general field of fluid dynamics, particulate and multiphase processes, combustion and fire systems, and thermal transport processes that can utilize the International Space Station (ISS) National Lab to conduct research that will benefit life on Earth. U.S. entities including academic investigators, non-profit independent research laboratories and academic-commercial teams are eligible to apply.

The PADI Foundation encourages and supports research and education related to aquatic environments. In pursuit of that mission, the foundation has awarded nearly $4.7 million to almost nine hundred projects since 1992. In 2019, the foundation will award grants of up to $20,000 to projects that enrich mankind's understanding of aquatic environments and encourage sensitivity to and protection of ecosystems; increase understanding of sport diving physics and physiology that will benefit the general diving public and add to the scientific understanding of man's relationship and ability to survive in the underwater environment; and/or improve understanding of, and response to, hazards to humans and ecosystems related to climate change in coastal and ocean environments. Generally, the foundation will not fund overhead or other indirect expenses. To be eligible, applicant organizations must be recognized as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. The Miami Initiative for Advancing, Mentoring and Investing in Women (M.I.A.M.I. WOMEN) awarded nearly $104,000 in Giving Circle grants to students and faculty during the annual Leadership Symposium on April 12, 2018. Finalists pitched their projects the previous evening at the inaugural Hawk Tank event. This grant fund is open again for the 2018-2019 cycle.

This solicitation represents a significant update of the CNH program, which will be known henceforth as CNH2: Dynamics of Integrated Socio-Environmental Systems. The CNH2 program acknowledges a continuum of environments from those with very limited human impacts (e.g. the extreme poles) to those in which human systems and processes fully dominate (e.g. densely populated megacities). There are integrated systems operating in all these spaces, and many can be considered as domains for CNH2 study. For the purposes of this solicitation, we define the "socio" or human component of the system as one predominantly governed by human decisions, actions, and behaviors, and we define the "environmental" component of the system as one predominantly governed by biological, physical, and chemical processes. CNH2 projects can include research that investigates integrated socio-environmental systems in agricultural as well as in urban settings.
