Patagonia funds only environmental work. We are most interested in making grants to organizations that identify and work on the root causes of problems and that approach issues with a commitment to long-term change. Because we believe that the most direct path to real change is through building grassroots momentum, our funding focuses on organizations that create a strong base of citizen support. We support small, grassroots, activist organizations with provocative direct-action agendas, working on multi-pronged campaigns to preserve and protect our environment. We help local groups working to protect local habitat, and think the individual battles to protect a specific stand of forest, stretch of river or indigenous wild species are the most effective in raising more complicated issues - particularly those of biodiversity and ecosystem protection - in the public mind. We look for innovative groups that produce measurable results, and we like to support efforts that force the government to abide by its own - our own - laws. Your efforts should be quantifiable, with specific goals, objectives and action plans, and should include measures for evaluating success.

FSMLs support environmental and basic biological research and education by preserving access to study areas and organisms, by providing facilities and equipment in close proximity to those study areas, and by fostering an atmosphere of mutual scientific interest and collaboration in research and education.

The Cultural and Paleontological Resources Management Programs are responsible for managing and preserving these fragile, nonrenewable scientific resources that are an important component of America's natural heritage. These heritage resources are managed for educational, scientific, cultural, and recreational purposes. In addition, the cultural resources program is responsible for engaging with Native American communities and ensuring accountability for the proper care of museum objects that are related to the tribes cultural patrimony.

Background: The BLM partners with the Cooperative Ecosystems Study Unit (CESU); State Agencies and political subdivisions thereof; private entities; and for profit and non-profit entities to study, monitor, protect, preserve, and conserve various species, to include Special Status species, throughout Oregon and Washington as well as restoring their habitat.

The Montezuma Castle cliff dwelling and Casa Grande Great House are the American Southwest¿s most iconic earthen buildings. This cooperative agreement outlines work necessary to plan and implement pilot preservation treatments at both sites. Objectives of the project include, 1) plaster sampling and analysis to determine material constituency (MOCA/CAGR), 2) continued archeological analysis and evaluation (MOCA/CAGR), 3) implementation of pest management recommendations and pilot stabilization treatments (CAGR), 4) archival printing of select walls and features (CAGR/MOCA).

Founded in 1945, the J.M. Kaplan Fund is a family foundation with a longstanding history of advocacy for and support of social, artistic, and environmental causes. The fund's current initiatives are dedicated to social justice, the environment, and historic conservation. In honor of its history and mission, the fund is accepting applications for the 2019 J.M.K. Innovation Prize. Through the prize program, grants of up to $175,000 over three years will be awarded to ten early-stage innovators helming creative projects that stand to benefit numerous individuals, communities, and/or sectors. Project priorities include the preservation of natural resources and mitigation of the environmental impact of climate change; heritage conservation; and social justice-focused reforms of the criminal justice and immigration systems in the United States.

The Westinghouse Charitable Giving Program provides financial support to its communities in one or more of its priority funding areas, including education (with a focus on STEM disciplines), environmental sustainability, and community safety and vitality. 1) STEM Education: Grants support education programs that improve knowledge and literacy, with a focus in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. 2) Environmental Sustainability: Grants support programs with the goal of preserving or restoring land, air, water, or biodiversity. 3) Community Safety and Vitality: Grants support programs focused on improving the overall quality of life within a community by supporting initiatives that enhance public safety and well-being. Grant amounts are based on program budgets and are determined on an individual basis. To be eligible, applicants must be considered tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. NIFA's Agriculture in the Classroom Program (AITC) serves nearly 5 million students and 60,000 teachers annually through workshops, conferences, field trips, farm tours, and other educational activities. AITC programs include working with state AITC activities engaged in a variety of issues relating to agricultural literacy. Other programs emphasized by the NIFA AITC office include:*Science literacy*Agricultural careers*Nutrition*Pre-service and professional develop opportunities for teachers.The disciplines of agriculture and education have been related for much of our nation's history. When most Americans lived on farms or in small towns, students often did farm chores before and after school. Old schoolbooks have numerous agricultural references. As the farming population began to decline, agricultural emphasis decreased in educational materials as well.A core group of educators and agriculturalists pushed for more youth education about agriculture. They recognized the interlocking role of farming and food and fiber production with environmental quality, which included wildlife habitat, clean water, and the preservation of forests. This group went on to promote the national effort of AITC. Today AITC continues to help students gain a greater awareness of the role of agriculture in the economy and society so they will become citizens who support wise agricultural policies.

Community Safety and Vitality: Grants support programs that aim to improve the overall quality of life within a community by supporting initiatives that enhance safety and public well-being. Safety, health and wellness are vitally important to Westinghouse; our community commitment does not start and stop at the workplace door, but safety, health and wellness continue at home and in our community.

Projects must be designed to advance understanding of the impacts of or mitigating strategies for climate change. This may include but is not limited to understanding the impacts of climate change on water resources and natural resource preservation, tracking and predicting (human or animal) migration patterns based on changing weather conditions, developing models to analyze and improve crop or livestock resilience and yields in regions with extreme weather conditions, and more.

This project continues recent research and fieldwork at Fort Union National Monument (FOUN) by implementing a methodology for assessing the vulnerabilities and risks to the adobe ruins. These protocols will allow NPS management to develop more informed conservation and management (preservation) plans for the site. The program will include a full site survey of the adobe walls using the methodologies developed in previous phases, and identify those walls most at risk to failure. It will also implement a series of pilot treatment interventions on high-risk walls in the Mechanics Corral.

his program will provide challenging training opportunities through collaborative, immersive apprentice-style experiences in working alongside NPS employees on the completion of historic preservation deferred maintenance projects throughout the NPS system. This training will be accomplished by placing participants in the carefully supervised environments of active maintenance projects to assist in their completion.

This Research Fund is opening a call for projects in the following areas: * Protecting vulnerable populations from epidemics and catastrophes, including COVID-19: be it migrants, informal settlements, workers in the informal economy, isolated people, people with disabilities, the elderly * Improving data collection and quality in health: how can data and technology help us get out of the crisis, understand it and mitigate it? How can it inform future containment and epidemic control? * Understanding the effects of confinement and social distancing: what are the effects of confinement and social distancing on society and households? What are the mental health consequences? The social and domestic repercussions? * Early warning and preparedness: how do we re-enforce our health infrastructure and ecosystem (including medical devices and drug supply) to be better prepared and how do we protect our health workers and caregivers? * Preserving the environment and our health: connections between climate change, biodiversity loss and the origin of viral disease including socioeconomic dynamics leading to infectious disease outbreaks and sanitary crisis; Learnings from COVID-19 for mitigating future related crises in climate and biodiversity

The goal of this agreement is to develop HUC 8 watershed plans, based upon the 2008 Final Rule watershed approach, to maintain and improve the quality and quantity of aquatic resources within the HUC 6 Tanana River Watershed, starting with the Chena River Watershed and then followed by the other watersheds in order of their importance to Chinook salmon, their percentage of permitted impacts, and emerging and anticipated threats to their aquatic resources. Each plan will identify key areas within the watershed where strategically selected compensatory mitigation sites could be developed to restore, establish, enhance and preserve Chinook salmon and other aquatic resources.

Provide educational, environmental and cultural programs to encourage appreciation of park resources and the preservation district.

Through this proposed undertaking, ￧ BLM collaboration with a partner to accomplish river and habitat restoration projects throughout the Upper and Lower Platte Valley within the Platte River Watershed, aimed at protection and improvement of terrestrial and aquatic habitats at the watershed level with the principal purpose of preservation of a functioning ecosystem on public lands within the Platte River Watershed.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 7 intends to award a single source financial assistance agreement as authorized by 505 DM 2.14 (B) to Tanana Valley Watershed Association. This notice is not a request for proposals and the Government does not intend to accept proposals. Projects must seek to preserve and protect outdoor places where we all live, work and play. Projects should be innovative and creative. Projects should have clear goals and measurable objectives. Projects that introduce new audiences to the outdoors through responsible outdoor participation will receive special consideration. Project leads must be able to share program successes through social media, interact with KEEN social networks, share high-resolution photos and create an impact report upon project completion. Grants from $2500 - $10,000 awarded to U.S. nonprofit organizations or equivalents outside of the U.S.
