Eos Foundation Accepting Applications for 'After the Bell' Grant Opportunity | RFPs | PND - 0 views

    The Eos Foundation seeks an equitable and just society where the basic human needs of all individuals are met, and where children grow up well-nourished, healthy, and with opportunities for high-quality education and the skills/tools to achieve economic self-sufficiency. In support of this mission, the foundation is accepting applications for its After the Bell Breakfast Launch Grant Opportunities program. The benefits of the ATB breakfast program include lower absentee and tardy rates, fewer morning nurses visits and behavioral problems, and higher academic achievement. Under this RFP, technical assistance and one-time grants of $10,000 will be awarded to eligible, high-poverty schools/districts and charter public schools in Massachusetts for the launch or expansion of ATB programming. Districts may request district-wide grants.

Alternative Transitional Services for Unaccompanied Refugee Miniors - 0 views

    The Office of Refugee Resettlement's Unaccompanied Refugee Minors program within the Administration for Children and Families provides child welfare services and benefits to children eligible for placement, services and benefits under 8 U.S.C. § 1522(d)(2). As it exists today, the Unaccompanied Refugee Minors program provides such youth with the same range of child welfare benefits and services available to other foster children in the state of placement, including services identified in a state’s plans under titles IV-B and IV-E of the Social Security Act, such as associated independent living benefits and services. The existing program is funded through grants to states and is subject to state child welfare laws and regulations.The ATS URM program will provide time-limited transitional placement, benefits, and services to assist older youth eligible for the Unaccompanied Refugee Minors program to obtain the skills necessary for economic self-sufficiency and independent living.

Child Welfare Training: The National Child Welfare Workforce Institute - 0 views

    The purpose of this FOA would be to establish, by awarding one cooperative agreement, a National Child Welfare Workforce Institute (NCWWI) to advance federal priorities to improve safety, permanency, and well-being by building the capacity of child welfare professionals and improving the organizations that recruit, train, supervise, manage, and retain them. The Workforce Institute will play a national leadership role in the field of child welfare in the following broad areas: (1)Demonstrating how university partnerships support workforce development; (2) Implementing organizational interventions to improve workforce recruitment and retention; (3) Providing leadership training across the child welfare career spectrum; (4) Developing cross system approaches to improve worker and child outcomes; and (5) Building evidence of best practices in workforce development. A broad range of activities will be undertaken by the Workforce Institute to promote effective child welfare practice, enhance agency efforts to create supportive work environments, and improve worker recruitment and retention outcomes by: Implementing an innovative, comprehensive and integrated organizational, educational, and professional development approach to effective child welfare workforce development building on the last two iterations of NCWWI work; Implementing effective workforce organizational interventions that result in improved agency climate, worker preparation, recruitment, and retention outcomes for agencies; such as reduction in emotional stress and worker burnout, increased length of stay for workers, changes in worker attitude and satisfaction, increased recruitment, etc.; Demonstrating expertise in collecting and disseminating information about effective and promising workforce practices in innovative ways;
