LEO Foundation 'Open competition grants' are given to support the best dermatology research projects worldwide. Thus, we welcome applications from research projects that: - Improve the understanding of the underlying medicinal, biological, chemical, or pharmacological mechanisms of dermatological diseases and their symptoms - Address clinical issues among people who are at risk of developing, or have developed, a skin disease, including how it impacts their quality of life and the societal costs involved

The Emerging Frontiers in Research and Innovation (EFRI) program of the NSF Directorate for Engineering (ENG) serves a critical role in helping ENG focus on important emerging areas in a timely manner. This solicitation is a funding opportunity for interdisciplinary teams of researchers to embark on rapidly advancing frontiers of fundamental engineering research. For this solicitation, we will consider proposals that aim to investigate emerging frontiers in one of the following two research areas: Distributed Chemical Manufacturing (DCheM) Engineering the Elimination of End-of-Life Plastics (E3P) This solicitation will be coordinated with the Directorate for Biological Sciences, the Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences and the Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences. EFRI seeks proposals with potentially transformative ideas that represent an opportunity for a significant shift in fundamental engineering knowledge with a strong potential for long term impact on national needs or a grand challenge. The proposals must also meet the detailed requirements delineated in this solicitation.

The Undergraduate Research (UR) grants program supports the research programs of established scientists and engineers at non-doctoral departments and provides financial support for students at those institutions to become involved in advanced research activities, in preparation for continued study in graduate school or employment.

The Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program Collaborative Innovation Award (CCIA) supports collaborative research activities that develop innovative solutions that will improve the efficiency, quality and impact of turning laboratory, clinic and community observations into interventions that improve the health of individuals and the public. Using its strength in glycoscience, the client wishes to achieve the following FCH- and s-FCH-related goals with a potential partner to continue to supply the world with innovative pharmaceuticals/medical devices in this field: Supply pharmaceuticals/medical devices that meet unmet medical needs Specialized areas/diseases: Diseases of locomotive organs, ophthalmic diseases, and diseases of the mucous membrane in the mouth, esophagus, gastrointestinal tract, etc. Supply products that cannot be replaced by other products or competitor's products, using the client's strength in glycoscience

The purpose of this Request for Information is to seek information from power generation equipment manufacturers, utilities, power plant architect-engineers, and other stakeholders that can be used as input to a Department of Energy Fossil Energy Research and Development program that will culminate in the design, construction, and operation of a coal-based pilot-scale power plant by 2025. The coal-based pilot plant will be used as the basis for scaling up to a commercial offering that is highly efficient (40 percent or greater higher heating value), modular (unit sizes of approximately 50 to 350 MW), and economical for both international and domestic power generation. The pilot plant and commercial offering does not have to capture and store carbon dioxide, but must be carbon capture ready. This is solely a request for information and is not a Funding Opportunity Announcement. U.S. Department of Energy is not accepting applications to this Request for Information.

AFOSR plans, coordinates, and executes the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) basic research program in response to technical guidance from AFRL and requirements of the Air Force. Additionally, the office fosters, supports, and conducts research within Air Force, university, and industry laboratories; and ensures transition of research results to support U.S. Air Force needs. The focus of AFOSR is on research areas that offer significant and comprehensive benefits to our national war fighting and peacekeeping capabilities. These areas are organized and managed in two scientific Departments: Engineering and Information Science (RTA) and Physical and Biological Sciences (RTB). The research activities managed within each Department are summarized in this section.

The focus of this grant is to assist the Roundtable's green chemistry initiative to develop strategies to enhance the greenness of peptide, oligonucleotide and antibody drug conjugate synthesis. One grant is planned to be awarded and the total award is limited to $50,000 for a grant period of 12 months with a possible renewal option available for a second year.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to foster research on human long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) to understand their roles in controlling the gene regulatory networks underpinning normal Heart, Lung, Blood and Sleep (HLBS) homeostatic and disease processes. 

The purpose of the NIH Mentored Research Scientist Development Award (K01) is to provide support and "protected time" (three to five years) for an intensive, supervised career development experience in the biomedical, behavioral, or clinical sciences leading to research independence. Although all of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs) use this support mechanism to support career development experiences that lead to research independence, some ICs use the K01 award for individuals who propose to train in a new field or for individuals who have had a hiatus in their research career because of illness or pressing family circumstances. Other ICs offer separate K01 FOAs intended to increase research workforce diversity.
