    The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The overarching goal of this NHGRI R25 program is to support educational activities that The overarching goal of this NHGRI R25 program is to support educational activities that enhance the diversity of the biomedical, behavioral and clinical research workforce in genomics. This funding opportunity announcement seeks to expose underrepresented students at the undergraduate, post-baccalaureate and graduate levels to the foundational sciences relevant to genomics to enable them to pursue careers that span all areas of interest to NHGRI - genome sciences, genomic medicine and genomics and society. For the purposes of this FOA, the term genomics encompasses issues and activities in these three areas of genomic research.

    his FOA will assist Liberia in intensifying its surveillance of EVD through training Epidemiologists at the local and National level, providing National Epidemiologist EVD subject matter experts to assist County field teams in their work; as well as provide logistical support, supplies and equipment for Epidemiology Field teams to be able to conduct EVD surveillance. Laboratory systems will be strengthened through the assistance of a Senior Laboratory Data specialist, upgrades to the Laboratory Data Integration systems, and provision of much needed laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment. EVD Chain of Transmission activities will include assessment of facilities throughout the country; and epidemiological active surveillance country wide, at the county level.     The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support an ancillary study grant application(s) to add psychological, behavioral, and/or neurocognitive assessments to the data collection in adults (> 18 years of age) enrolled at the clinical sites in the Molecular Transducers of Physical Activity in Humans Consortium (MoTrPAC) supported by the NIH Common Fund.     he U.S. Congress provides funds to CDC for programmatic support and procurement of vaccines critical to the success of the global initiatives for polio eradication and measles mortality reduction. The purpose of the program is to support the US Government-endorsed Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Global Measles Initiative, and the Global Immunization Vision and Strategy (GIVS) of which UNICEF is a key partner. Other key partners include CDC, World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Rotary International, American Red Cross, and the UN Foundation. UNICEF, in conjunction with CDC, will provide programmatic assistance and vaccines for supplemental immunization activities (SIAs) in priority countries as well as strengthening of routine immunization delivery systems and capacities in developing countries to achieve globally agreed goals for disease eradication, elimination and reduction. Additionally this agreement may be used to support activities to address other global health priorities in line with CDC goals. Under this agreement, UNICEF will collaborate with CDC, World Health Organization (WHO), Rotary International, other partner agencies and national governments, for implementation of strategies to achieve the globally agreed goals of polio eradication, measles mortality reduction and elimination, and control of other vaccine preventable diseases (VPD), including identification and prioritization of country vaccine and programmatic assistance needs.

    The pathogenesis of scleroderma is complex and not well understood. Immune activation, vascular abnormalities and dysregulation of extracellular matrix components contribute to end-stage obliterative vasculopathy and fibrosis. Host and environmental factors may contribute to disease predisposition and onset. Although these disease components have been known for some time, their roles in disease initiation and progression are unclear. Research efforts in scleroderma have been focused on the analysis of the immune abnormalities with emphasis on the molecular characterization of autoantibody specificity, autoreactive T cells and cytokine production. Another major research focus has been on the analysis of abnormal collagen production and the regulatory molecular pathways that control collagen production by fibroblasts. Recently, however, new clues point to host factors related to immune activation and regulation of vascular cell activity as potentially key early events in the pathogenesis of scleroderma.
