Eligible applicants are: 1) State and Territorial governments: Title V Agencies in states that have completed a Project LAUNCH grant, or will complete the grant by September 30, 2015. See Appendix II of the RFA for a listing of eligible applicants. 2) Federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) tribes and tribal organizations that have completed a Project LAUNCH grant, or will complete the grant by September 30, 2015. See Appendix II of the RFA for a listing of eligible applicants. Tribal organization means the recognized body of any AI/AN tribe; any legally established organization of American Indians/Alaska Natives which is controlled, sanctioned, or chartered by such governing body or which is democratically elected by the adult members of the Indian community to be served by such organization and which includes the maximum participation of American Indians/Alaska Natives in all phases of its activities. Eligibility is limited to State Title V Agencies, in states who have completed or will complete a Project LAUNCH grant by the end of FY 2015, since these are the agencies that received the initial Project LAUNCH grants. Project LAUNCH Expansion grants will build on the knowledge, expertise and experience acquired in the first Project LAUNCH grant in order to take practices and systems changes to scale by expanding these practices to other communities within the state/tribe (or to additional tribes). The Project LAUNCH Expansion grants will provide states and tribes the opportunity for broader dissemination of these innovative practices and policies that will lead to better outcomes for young children and families. In addition, the Title V agency was the convener of the original LAUNCH Council, and will be well-positioned to continue the work of increasing cross-agency and public-private partnerships through the Expansion grant. State Title V agencies should partner with the lead children's mental health agency as this grant opportunity is focused

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to foster innovative approaches to empirical research on societal, organizational, group, and individual factors that affect, both positively and negatively, integrity in research. Integrity is defined as the use of honest and verifiable methods in proposing, performing, and evaluating research and reporting research results with particular attention to adherence to rules, regulations, guidelines, and commonly accepted professional codes or norms.

The Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center, through the Living Marine Resources (LMR) program, is soliciting pre-proposals for efforts related to any one of the two (2) need topics listed below. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Exploratory/Developmental Grant (R21) funding opportunity supports the development of new research activities in all areas of cancer research. The R21 mechanism is intended to encourage exploratory and developmental research projects by providing support for the early and conceptual stages of these projects. These studies may involve considerable risk but may lead to a breakthrough in a particular area, or to the development of novel techniques, agents, methodologies, models, or applications that could have a major impact on a field of cancer research (biomedical, behavioral, or clinical).

The purpose of this Notice is to inform new NIH applicants, their mentors, and grant administrators at their institution about two upcoming webinars the NIH Center for Scientific Review (CSR) is hosting in November 2015.  These webinars are designed to give participants useful insights into our application submission and peer review processes.  CSR is the portal for NIH grant applications and their review for scientific and technical merit.

Through its Faculty/Post-Doctoral Fellows program, the fund will award grants of up to $20,000 to support studies aimed at developing, refining, evaluating, and/or disseminating innovative interventions designed to prevent or ameliorate major social, psychological, behavioral, or public health problems affecting children, adults, couples, families, or communities. In addition, the fund will consider studies that have the potential for adding significantly to knowledge about such problems. Projects must focus on the United States or Canada or on a comparison between the U.S. or Canada and at least one other country.

The goal of the RCN program is to advance a field or create new directions in research or education by supporting groups of investigators to communicate and coordinate their research, training and educational activities across disciplinary, organizational, geographic and international boundaries.

The purpose of the AETC NCCC is to supply health care providers with a national resource to obtain timely and appropriate responses to clinical questions relating to: 1) the treatment of people living with HIV (PLWH) and those at high risk for HIV infection; 2) health care worker exposure to HIV and other blood borne pathogens (e.g., viral hepatitis); 3) the treatment of pregnant women living with HIV, and their exposed infants, and a perinatal referral service to connect them with HIV-experienced care providers; and 4) PLWH with behavioral health and/or substance abuse issues. 

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to facilitate the development and testing of new, cutting-edge technologies to enhance functioning in individuals with social impairments.

The NIH Directors Early Independence Award Program supports exceptional investigators who wish to pursue independent research directly after completion of their terminal doctoral/research degree or clinical residency, thereby forgoing the traditional post-doctoral training period and accelerating their entry into an independent research career.

The Partnerships for Innovation: Building Innovation Capacity (PFI:BIC) program supports academe-industry partnerships which are led by an interdisciplinary academic research team collaborating with a least one industry partner. In this program, there is a heavy emphasis on the quality, composition, and participation of the partners, including the appropriate contributions for each role. These partnerships focus on the integration of technologies into a specified human-centered service system with the potential to achieve transformational change, satisfying a real need by making an existing service system smart(er) or by spurring the creation of an entirely new smart service system.

The $20,000 grant supports "exceptional individuals working in the area of serious mental illness," including but not limited to schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and paranoia (delusional disorder). The American Psychological Foundation provides financial support for innovative research and programs that enhance the power of psychology to elevate the human condition and advance human potential both now and in generations to come.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites grant applications for the Outstanding Investigator Award (R35) in any area of cancer research.

The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF) is committed to facilitating the development of treatments and cures for mitochondrial disease and recognizes that research, from benchtop to bedside, is the path to success. The sponsor also recognizes that there is often a gap in the funding of research projects for rare disorders. They seek to fund high potential impact projects that will forward the cause of improving the lives of those affected by mitochondrial disease.  

The objective of the Social Behavioral Research Grant is to provide seed monies to junior investigators working on various disciplines of social science examining risk factors affecting lung health including: Psychosocial research Behavioral research Health services and health policy research Epidemiology / Biostatics research Public Health Education research

We seek applications from independent investigators who can devote a substantial portion of time to this effort. While we will not require a minimum Principal Investigator (PI) effort, we expect the PI to commit to a level of effort that reflects a leading role in the project. We encourage applications from researchers who are not currently working on autism, but who have expertise that could be brought to bear on this complex disorder. It is an outstanding opportunity for exceptional midcareer health professionals and behavioral and social scientists with an interest in health and health care policy. Fellows participate in the policy process at the federal level and use that leadership experience to improve health, health care, and health policy.

The program's goals are to support psychology's efforts to improve areas of critical need in society, including but not limited to innovative scientifically based clinical work with serious mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, incarcerated or homeless individuals, children with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and adults with serious mental illness (SMI); and to encourage early career psychologists to devote their careers to under-served populations.

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) seeks grant applications to catalyze major advances in genomics through technology development (beyond developing nucleic acid sequencing technologies). The goal is to provide a mechanism for support of very novel and high impact work from across this gamut of genomics technology development. 

This initiative is funded through the NIH Common Fund, which supports cross-cutting programs that are expected to have exceptionally high impact. All Common Fund initiatives invite investigators to develop bold, innovative, and often risky approaches to address problems that may seem intractable or to seize new opportunities that offer the potential for rapid progress. This Phased Innovation Awards Cooperative Agreement Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) solicits applications to support a collaborative research infrastructure involving an interdisciplinary team of basic and clinical scientists to develop the foundation for an experimental medicine approach to behavior change. Research supported by this FOA is meant to support activities focused on behavior change targets in the domain of interpersonal and social processes through four main target validation steps: 1. Identify a set of putative targets within the interpersonal and social processes domain that are implicated in medical regimen adherence and at least one other health behavior; 2. Leverage existing or develop new experimental or intervention approaches to engage identified targets; 3. Identify or develop appropriate assays (measures) to permit verification of target engagement; 4. Test the degree to which engaging identified targets produces a desired change in medical regimen adherence and at least one other health behavior. While testing target engagement in specific clinical samples is permitted, the targets identified and the behavior change outcomes measured should be selected based on their hypothesized relevance to at least two clinical endpoints or disease conditions. Funds from the NIH will be made available through the UH2/UH3 Phased Innovation Awards Cooperative Agreement mechanism.The initial UH2 phase will support steps 1-3 above.
