PresentationTube Recorder is a tool designed to record Ppts for 15 minutes--free, of course, though there is a paid version that allow more to be done. Worth a look

Fotobabble app--can record voice (up to 5 minutes) to record voice with image. Good video shows you how.

Another free online voice recorder, much like Audioboo. Certainly looks easy to use--just click.

Livescribe (reviewed positively in NY Times 8-19-10) allows the writer to take notes that are translated to computer; can also record and play back. Lots of potential, though a bit pricey (around $200--probably will come down, if we are patient!).

I searching through our old posts and found this one. The pens have come down in price, I bought one last fall ($100). My principal also bought a dozen or so with multiple paper packs (an educator bundle). I am using them in the fourth grade tier 2 intervention group for fluency. The students use them to record their reading, then they can listen to them selves to determine expression, monitor their time, and answer comprehension questions (again listening if they need to). I use them in 6th grade for literature circles. The students initial when they talk, so I can go back and tap their initials and evaluate their questioning/discussion. Some of my teachers use them for running records to share with other teachers and parents too.

Audio recorder--easy to use--can send digital audio over email, add to website. Free version allows up to 1 minutes of recording, which is fine for most purposes.

Running Record app--inexpensive (under $3)--could be very helpful.

Screencast-o-matic has been updated--great for screen casting. Recommend highly--can now record for 15 minutes.

SoundCloud--idea for teacher usage. Have students record podcast and then you, as the teacher can comment. Looks quite interesting.

Lots of podcasts via links from Classroom 2.0 that address aspects of Web 2.0 tools. Good resource. Addresses various resources from podcasting to videos to PD.

iPad/iPhone--App for recording student behavior. Free verson allows you to follow 5 students on 3 behaviors. Pro-version is customizable and probably worth the money--good reviews on Teacher's Assistant Pro. I might try the free version first and then upgrade.

Doodlecast Pro allows you to record your voice and your drawing at the same time on the iPad (current cost $3.99). Version 2.2 has gotten mixed reviews, but it might be helpful in showcasing math, for example.

Broad Cam Pro--can turn your iPad into a live exhibit..your can showcase and interact with websites and materials on your desktop and record the video. Looks worth the $4.99.

podcasting in classroom--good introduction; lots of ideas of using audio (e.g., embedding in Word). Instructional delivery (e.g., could use this for 504 plans). Reviews lots of podcasting Web 2.0 tools. Good point--limit student audio recording. Discusses editing and when to use.

Upload photos, record voice and share...free. Again, I see potential for publishing--could have book reviews, commentary and more on classroom webpage.

Audacity Tip Sheet for Students--succinct. If your students use Audacity to record sound (for podcasts), this is helpful. Remember Audcity files have to be converted into mp3. Most students struggle with finding LAME, which only has to be clicked on once.Obviously, this is for PCs and not Mac.
