Audio recorder--easy to use--can send digital audio over email, add to website. Free version allows up to 1 minutes of recording, which is fine for most purposes.
podcasting in classroom--good introduction; lots of ideas of using audio (e.g., embedding in Word). Instructional delivery (e.g., could use this for 504 plans).
Reviews lots of podcasting Web 2.0 tools. Good point--limit student audio recording. Discusses editing and when to use.
New audio tool for iPads--Adobe Voice. Looks very easy with some options (e.g., royalty free music, add photos), but you have to email or embed--you can't download.
Good blog on what teachers should be able to to with mobile learning for 21st Century learners. Has sensible links too to social bookmarking, audio and more.

VoiceThread is a collaborative tool that allows collaboration online. Responses may take the form of video, audio, doodle (drawing) or typing) and also phone (scheduled call which will record). Many ways to accommodate learners. Highly recommend. Free, but I upgraded to Pro version.
Masher is free--can combine digital audio, video, text (yours and Masher's) to produce videos. Kids very muck like mashing--you need to encourage attributions, however.
