Free apps to celebrat National Reading Month. Auryn, Inc. will have a free interactive reading iPad/Phone app each day of March. Worth your time to look.
Storyboard that--looks like a great free online story board. Would work well with graphica, free and educators can set up their private classroom accounts.
KeepVid (free) allows you to download videos from many places (including YouTube, Flickr, TED, Vimeo and more) and then show in your classroom. It's free--you choose whether mac, PC, mobile, etc and the download. It really addresses where some schools 'block' all YouTube or there are buffering issues. I tend to use the mp4 version, but you have choices of file type too.
Royalty Free Music--too often I have paid for music so that I don't break copyrighting. Here's a simple source for music with easy attribution. Recommend.
iPad/iPhone--App for recording student behavior. Free verson allows you to follow 5 students on 3 behaviors.
Pro-version is customizable and probably worth the money--good reviews on Teacher's Assistant Pro.
I might try the free version first and then upgrade.
mp3 of books (many for free, including classics like "Call of the Wild" and "Anne of Green Gables." You have to sort through their categories, which are topic based rather than genre. Looks like it might have some potential, though recent books (e.g., biography of Steve Jobs) cost money.
Free cloud storage with Copy--works similar to Dropbox -- free and 15 GB of storage. (I use Dropbox and see no need to change, but this has an app that you can install on any device and, apparently, is not in conflict with Dropbox). Might be worth a book.
Blog about tools for drawing diagrams--free ones as well as paid ones. I particularly like (Inspiration--$ because you can hyperlink and save as a Word document with hyperlinks too--as well as bubbl.us--free.
Tag cloud creators--great summary all on one place (e.g., Wordle). I have used several and find them pretty straightforward to use. (Note Tagful will only give 1 month free--so use the 'free' sources.)
