At present this forum is set to be viewed by the general public.

Diigo's structure allows these forums to be set to private, for members only.

Once the group reaches a certain level of activity there will be proposals to close the group or create another that is private.

At present, there are rules that I would like any member adhere to in terms of posting articles here.

The reason is that the current rules (tags being used) create a large number of automated services that are posted to other places, blogs netvibes etc.

If you wish to join and post content to this service, then you will need to follow several simple rules.

There are currently nearly 700 different tags being used to identify each story that is posted to this group.

Content needs to be identified by geographical location and subject. Please do not post any non-nuclear stories to this group.

If you wish to post content that is editorial in nature please use

    nuke.comments"

as the tag to identify this particular content

If you wish to post an nuclear related event please use

    nuke.events

as the tag identifying this particular content.

If you wish to post nuclear alerts please use

    nuke.alerts

as the tag identifying this particular content. Also make sure to the below tag rules for the above examples.

If you are adding government documents use

nuke.gov or nuke.fr (for federal register docs)

    Here's the structure.

    Global location. For example:

A story about the reprocessing facility at Sellafiield would have the following location tags:

    europe uk scotland sellafield

In the U.S. each story should be identified by state using the standard two letter Mail abbreviation.

Thus, California wold have the tag ca

Note that there is already a built in list of facilities in the library. that facility name will should start to show up as you type in its usual name. By learning how to use the built in tag library, it will keep the library organized.

The next level of tags would be to describe the subjects of the story:

Thus a story about sellafield leak that effected sombodies health would include the following tags:

europe uk scotland sellafield reprocessing health safety leaks workers contamination fuel-cycle nuclear energy

Note that there are quite a few major meta subject tags here like:

nuclear energy fuel-cycle n-waste n-weapons nw-transport economics safety uranium mining reactors etc.

Please try to identify the issue along the lines of tying the core tags to each story.

Once you get the handle on tagging a story, it usually only takes a 20-30 seconds to complete.

Also note, there are many advanced resources on Diigo including mailing the article you have just bookmarked to somebody or another list, as well as being able to autopost it your own blog.

And of course, it only shows up here in this group if you click the post group option...

If you have any questions let me know.

By sharing your articles, documents etc. here it will not only enhance the group but also help build a better library for people using it.

Lastly, these are optional tags, if you want the stories to show up on the energy net blog you will will also need to include the key tags nuke.news and or nuke.news.int tags. The int tag stands for international content while the other is for U.S.A. content.

    That it describing the rules.

Please note, that I usually add at least 5-8 tags per article as a rule, other than the events, oped and alerts tags.
