Diigo and Prezi | Quite Useful - 0 views

Diigo and Prezi I think that diigo is wonderful. It is such a good way to organise your bookmarks. It's also a great way to collaborate on resources. I often find great websites that my colleagues may find useful, though I'm never quite sure if they are worthy of clogging their inboxes. With diigo I can just add to a group list and then everyone can access them. Getting something like that up and running is definitely a goal for next year. The head librarian at my school is also very excited about diigo and I have drawn her a very messy diagram of how diigo groups can work. In order to tick two things of my list I thought I would use prezi to put together a clear explanation of diigo.

One goal of KidPad is to enable children to create non-linear stories to express their thoughts visually, in a more natural way than linear storytelling allows. KidPad supports collaboration between children because it can be used with multiple mice on the same computer. Certain tools in KidPad encourage collaboration because they enable two children to perform a task that they would be unable to perform alone. For example, if a child wants to draw in orange she must work with another child. There is no orange crayon but if the red and yellow crayons are put together the colors mix and two mice can draw in orange.

Taking learning forward… « What Ed Said - 0 views

Let me know what you think! This year, we would like to find even more primary sources in every country that our learners choose to investigate. Rather than a formal class structure, it would be great to see them in small groups talking via Skype to as many people as possible. We'd love to have them engaging with students in other countries and continuing to connect with them after the initial interviews. It would be great to see them work collaboratively on Google Maps to which they add photos, information, questions and new learning. Hopefully they will use their class blogs to reflect on what they learn and to record their wonderings, so that people 'out there' can respond.
