Ski Stunt Simulator may very well be my all-time favorite physics game. As with most physics games, the premise is simple: You control a 2D skier performing various tricks on the slopes. Where Ski Stunt Simulator stands apart from other physics is the fidelity of that control. This isn't a simple ragdoll game-far from it. In fact, Ski Stunt Simulator is the result of collaboration between a programmer at Relic Entertainment and a researcher at the University of British Columbia, and the robust simulation definitely demonstrates an academic level of engineering.

What is the Technology Footprint in Your Classroom? - 0 views

  •
In contrast to the technology teachers' use in a classroom for their professional use, what is the technology (digital) footprint students' use in your classroom? When effectively integrated into teaching and student learning, technology has the power to transform a classroom into an influential learning community. Within this digital community students use technology tools to create collaborative and personal learning networks to support their learning. So what is the technology footprint? This is the digital toolbox containing offline and online technology tools and programs students select from as they complete assignments or projects. These digital tools may include and not limited to computers, iPod Touches, cell phones, online problem solving situations, blogs, podcasts, interactive websites, and other Web 2.0 tools. EdTech Toolbox: Student Designed E-books: Challenge Based Learning - 0 views

  • Martin said... Fantastic project Greg and thanks for sharing. Our grade 6 and 7 students in West Vancouver are just now completing a year-long magazine publishing project. Each student selected a topic of interest and throughout the year they have been taught various writing and publishing techniques. We have partnered with a local university graphic design department and their first year design students have been assisting our students with their layout and design, to produce dramatic publications. Our students have been so motivated the entire year. Giving the students choice and a bit of freedom to experiment and collaborate has been enlightening. We really have noticed a significant level of engagement and ownership with all students, including some boys who are not that keen to write. Our completed magazines will be posted on our ISSUU site http://issuu.com/mandrews. Several samples have been posted.

  •
Wetoku is a web service or web 2.0 tool out of Korea that does one thing very well…it provides a simple platform for interviewing someone via the Internet. Collaborating globally is a must for our students and as result interviewing can be a challenge. Wetoku makes doing an interview as easy as filling out some basic information, creating an interview session and then sending the creative interview session's URL to the interviewee. Very Cool!

Encourage the room to use the live stream to make comments, ask questions, and use that feedback to tailor your presentation, sharpen your points, and address audience needs. Find out what your students are really thinking as the lesson occurs, slow down, speed up, explain clearer?
