Oh My Lord! Our users can log their ski trip, hiking trip or sightseeing trip, upload it to Breadcrumbs with their photos and videos, and send it to all their friends, who can relive the adventure in 3D. And this is only the start, as we plan to provide our users with a platform to not only edit and maintain tracks, but also to find new places to explore and interact within a social network. a bit better than a postcard i guess.

In the spring of 2010, I decided to introduce Evernote as a research tool to a group of 10th grade Literature/Composition students at my school. I chose Evernote because these students (part of a learning and technology integration program), were preparing to start a research project using multiple sources of information, including database articles, web-based news stories, videos, photos, and interviews. For their research, students were not only using a wide range of information sources, but they were also creating multigenre learning artifacts, such as VoiceThreads, artwork, videos, poetry, and other representations of their key learnings.

Make 2D screen based cartoon stories to illustrate conversations and dialogues. Stories can include an unlimited number of frames and are view frame by frame. Each frame can include: * Images: Drag and drop library items onto the frame, or import your own digital photos or images saved from the web. * Text bubbles: Select from a range text bubbles and information boxes. Drag and drop onto the frame and start typing! Text can be in any language and any script. * Voice recordings: Add new voice recordings using the simple built in recording panel. You can also add recordings already saved on your computer. Stories are saved on your computer as HTML page (webpages), and can easily viewed by others on any computer using a web browser such as Internet Explorer. Stories can also be printed. Completed stories can also be loaded back into the Cartoon Story Maker and edited or added to. Very cool

Do you need a new way for your students to express themselves or show what they know? Google Search Stories Video Creator may be the way. Students just type up to seven search terms and search types into a field. Then they choose the music and publish. The results are embeddable and linkable.

It's difficult for parents to allow their kids to use YouTube, because it's very hard to filter out the bad content from the good. Luckily, many of the children's sites across the Internet publish their own version of YouTube, dedicated exclusively for kids and no one else. "

Wow, grab some text (intro to a unit or new area of study) paste it in and it creates a wordle, but also lets you see how text is linked, see a thesaurus and more. Very cool.

The Performing Arts in Art curriculum explores works of art in the J. Paul Getty Museum's collection that depict subjects related to music, dance, theater, and storytelling. This interdisciplinary curriculum engages students in diverse topics in the disciplines of visual art, performing arts, history, and language arts. A variety of visual, musical, kinesthetic, and linguistic activities address the multiple ways in which students learn and provide new lenses for exploring historical events, mythological stories, and artistic traditions. Lessons in this curriculum address such questions as: How have the roles of performing and visual artists within society changed over time? How have musicians, actors, dancers, and storytellers been depicted in works of art, and what do such depictions reveal about the historical eras in which they were made? How do works of art convey the nuances of stories that have been passed down through oral tradition since the time of antiquity? How do visual artists convey movement and drama in their works? ok then!

As a teacher, I enjoy looking for new ways to engage students. Some methods employed may be novel; I know their effectiveness will wear off over time. Other methods are structured around solid principles of learning and have lasting value. Striking a balance amongst both novel and lasting methods helps establish an evolving, engaging and enriched classroom experience.

Viewbix is a new service for making videos interactive. Viewbix works with videos that are hosted on YouTube and it works with videos that are hosted on Facebook. I gave Viewbix a try this evening and while "interactive" might be a slight overstatement, you can definitely add some enhancements to videos.
