"I wanted something very, very simple that delivered great results in 60 seconds of prep time or less. It may take you a few tries to get below the one-minute mark, but I think you'll enjoy the results every time! For your ciabatta you'll need: 4 cups of all-purpose flour (do NOT pack the flour into the measuring cup) 2 cups of warm water 1 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon of granulated yeast (or equivalent) For the gorgeous readers needing metric equivalents of this recipe, Toon left a comment with the following conversion: 500 grams of all-purpose flour 4,7 deciliter of warm water 4 grams of salt (= 1 teaspoon = 5 ml) 1 gram of dry yeast (= 1/4 teaspoon = 1,25 ml) You'll also need a medium-size mixing bowl, a 10×15 cookie sheet or baking stone, a hand towel or plastic wrap, and whatever you'd like to keep your bread from sticking (if you're using a pan, I use flour and corn meal). You'll need such signs because anybody who actually watches you make the bread will think you're one of the laziest bakers in existence. 3. Stir Into A Heavy Batter Use a spoon. You could use your hands if you wanted but you probably didn't wash your hands before starting this anyhow. Start with a quick run about around the perimeter of the bowl with your spoon. A few quick strokes through the middle and you should have a heavy batter. If it looks too thick to be pancake batter and not thick enough to be playdough, you're right on target. 4. Diigo integrates the use of tags and folders, highlighting and clipping, sticky notes and group-based collaboration to better manage online information."

"Shidonni is a site where students can draw their favorite animal with a world to live in it and see the animal spring to life. Kids take care of their animals by feeding, petting or sending them to sleep. The animal eats the food that kids have drawn for it. They can choose if they want their pet to walk or fly, and they can name it. Kids can draw a background and change it whenever they want. They can play games with their virtual animals or send them to their friends to play with their animals. You can watch this introduction video. This site is great for kindergarten students but I'm sure primary kids will love and enjoy this site too!! This can be a great tool for digital storytelling or describing animals or daily routines."

Life as a teacher, especially one fresh off attending your own classes, can be hard. You have to wake up early, work late and manage a classroom full of kids, each with their own diverse needs and expectations. Luckily, there are numerous teachers out there who are willing to share their expertise and classroom experiments with teachers young and old. Gapminder - Looking and Playing with Data I found Gapminder through Edutecher.net. This is simply a great way to look at and play with data dealing with global trends and topics. Health, education, climate and poverty are but some of the few areas of research that have been collected and compiled into these interactive graphs. When you launch Gapminder World, you will be able to select values and indicators charted on the graph axes as well as identify and track specific countries. Basically - it is just too hard to describe the power of this online tool. Any teacher that deals or refers to current and historical events and trends will definitely find Gapminder to be compelling tool!

Looks an amazing site for viewing data in very different ways.

Popplet is a new web app that is like Wallwisher on steroids. You can make an online "bulletin-board" with virtual "post-its" (called "popplets), just like in Wallwisher. And, except for the fact you have to register to use it, Popplet is just as easy and, in some ways, easier to use with a lot more functionality. With Popplet, you search for images and videos on the Web directly within the "popplet" instead of copying and pasting the url address (as you need to do in Wallwisher). You can draw within the "popplet" and it doesn't appear to have an limit on the number of characters you can use. You can connect the "popplets." You can also embed the whole thing.

Definitely looking further into this one!

"This would be a great activity to have students compose their own songs for fun or to tie in with another classroom assignment. In my classroom it became a teachable moment with a spur of the moment rock-on contest to see who could make the best song. The My Doodle Songs has a list of many of the top songs that were created with the Les Paul Doodle. "

Like the guitar!

This weekend I had the great pleasure of participating in my first webinar: The 3rd Virtual Round Table Online Conference. It was an amazing experience, I had the pleasure of "running" into many friends from my PLN and loved the sessions I was able to attend. During the Unconference we all decided on some topics of interest and then each went to a virtual conference room to discuss the theme we had chosen. In the room I went to we talked about error correction - ways we do it, when we do it, etc. We shared ideas, our experiences. There were some great ideas, and I chipped in with an activity I really enjoy doing and the students have the greatest time with it. But most importantly, I believe it to be one of the most effective ways of error correction, because the correction is made by the students; they correct sentences they've written. (By the way, for those of you who were in the room, I am sorry if I stumbled or did something wrong - I was extremely nervous about speaking there!)

What a cool way to have fun with language, use the projector and have kids work in teams collaboratively. :)
