Ric, I'm one of The High Calling welcome editors and just wanted to say that I'm really glad you've reached out to us. This is a great post, and I love this part: "A church on a mission is what happens when you and I replace the "come to us" invitations with a "go to them" life." Wow! So true…and convicting. I use to live in the Hill Country of TX and now am in Amarillo. Good to see another Texan in the HC network. Welcome aboard! I look forward to getting to know you better online.

I love Spurgeon's mind…thanks for sharing this passage. So many times I pray and then keep worrying, which is exactly the OPPOSITE of what the Bible teaches. Congrats on your new blog, and thanks for joining (or re-joining) High Calling Blogs. We look forward to seeing you around the network!

I think God is honored when we seek Him, even (or, maybe, ESPECIALLY) if we do so while being honest with our questions and doubts. Wow. Thanks for this reminder that we serve a higher calling than country! I so agree with what you're saying. Too often, I fear we in America have equated conservative politics with good Christianity. But living out our faith requires sooo much more. BTW, welcome to the HCB network. I for one am thrilled to have yoU! :)

HF is my all-time favorite movie, and I love the Gena Rowlands character (who plays Sandra B.'s character's mom). She's such a great blend and balance of hope and realism. I hadn't thought of the movie as applicable to business concepts, but I guess it is. Thanks for the insights! BTW, welcome to High Calling Blogs.
