Yes, welcome to The High Calling! I love your blog and your writing style. This post was especially encouraging to me this morning. I look forward to reading a lot more of your writing!
Amy, I'm really glad you've joined The High Calling. It was fun to hear about your She Speaks experience--I've always wanted to go and haven't been able to you. I'm one of the welcome editors at THC and wanted to offer my support and perspective as you try to get published. I love writing and just signed my 5th book contract with Kregel. Good luck and Godspeed on your writing journey! I hope to get to know you better as you participate in our network.
This is my prayer, too: I pray that the people who knew me when will marvel at what I grow into. Or I should say, what He grows me into.
Me too! Thanks for joining the High Calling network. I look forward to reading more of your writing.
So true, so true. I've been on much the same journey this year and God has proved Himself faithful time and time again. It's so easy to listen to the enemy instead of our Best Friend…and His Word.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and how God's been teaching you. Many people are hurting and in distress right now and it's great to find a ministry that's dedicated to showing them Jesus' light.
Oh, and welcome to HCB-I look forward to seeing more of your excellent writing there.
I so relate to this post! I have always, always loved Fall and the start of a new school year-for me or my boys. I still long to go "back to school" and finish my masters' degree, and then spent the rest of my years on a college campus teaching English, writing, and reading…maybe God will make a way. If not, I can continue learning from life and the Lord.
Thanks for this walk down memory lane, and for joining HCB. You have a lovely blog!
Caroline, I love this! I'm trying to live in the moment, too-embracing every bush that's afire with God. And I'm so, so glad you've joined The High Calling blog network. I can't wait to read more of your excellent writing. I have two boys, adore bacon and avocados (sometimes, on the same sandwich!) and love mission work (it's how I met my husband). Your ministry sounds amazing, and I can't wait to hear more about it as you share your stories and experiences with our bloggers.
Wow…I love your writing and your photos. Thanks for sharing your thoughts also on the fact that He loves me, delights in me, and that I take His breath away. I needed to hear that today! Welcome to the HC network. We are very glad to have you and hope to see you around the community a LOT as you have time to participate.

We're so glad to have you in the High Calling network! To be so young, you've got a great gift for writing and it's encouraging to see you using it for the Lord. We hope to see lots of you around the site as you have time to participate!
Janet, first, welcome to The High Calling. I'm so glad you've joined our blog network. I love the look, writing and theme of your site and will look forward to reading more of it in the days/weeks to come. Second, how fun to read your story! My hubby and I-we've been married 16 years in July-met in a touring group (a 2-year commitment, after which I almost had to be committed!) of young adults, dated on the road, and got married right after the tour ended. We, too, were poor graduate student newlyweds with a roach-infested apt. and a grocery budget that had a huge line item for "PRAY!" I'd love to have coffee sometime and swap ministry-life stories, but since I'm in TX and you're in CA, I guess we'll have to settle for visiting one another's blogs. :) Have a great weekend, and again, thanks for joining THC!
Laura, your blog, photos, and writing are all lovely, and I wanted to tell you that we at The High Calling are really thrilled you've joined the network. I'm a mom of boys with an extroverted hubby (and I'm an introvert), so I can relate to the struggles you so honestly depict. I pray that as you honestly with others--and God--how you're struggling, you'll find community, encouragement, and peace. God bless you today and every day!
Good for you on going for your writing dreams. I think that's commendable! We are glad to have you in the High Calling Blogs network, too. Thanks for joining--and be sure and let me or any of the other editors know if we can help you in any way as you get connected with our wonderful community.
What a gorgeous picture--and a great reminder that we are new in Him. Thanks for sharing--and for becoming a member of our High Calling blog community. We pray that you'll be encouraged in your writing and photography as you interact with our network members. :)
I work with refugees, and I see God's heart for them every day...there are answers to prayers here in our non-profit offices you wouldn't believe (or maybe you would!). I am so glad you're writing about justice, and the way God sees the poor. Bless you! And welcome to the High Calling network. We're really glad to have you!
I love the humor and honesty you write with. I will be praying for your family, that God wraps His arms of love around You and holds you tightly, and that you'll be enveloped by His peace in the midst of trials. The last year and 1/2 in our family has been quite the ride, and some of it nearly did me/us in emotionally (and physically). But we're coming out of it now, and I can see how faithful He was, and is...in the smallest details.
Welcome to the High Calling network. Let us know how we can serve and encourage you. We're glad to have you onboard!

It’s fun to see the process, Jennifer. I so enjoy my Studio JRU original,
hanging over my right shoulder even as I write.
May God continue to bless you in your work.
