"Honduras' Cardinal Óscar Rodríguez Maradiaga has chosen to remain silent on the crisis that is edging ever closer to implicating the Vatican and Pope Benedict XVI himself in an alleged cover up which some in the media are starting to compare to Watergate." The crisis is the alleged acts of pedophelia, rape, and molestation committied by preista, deacons, and nuns all over the world. This is especially significant to Latin America, as most of the region is Catholic and is currently celebrating Holy Week. Also, many worship El Papa since as the leader of the Church, and he is being implemented in the accusations aswell (accusations stem from his actions in his 'former life' as a German Cardinal). What is this doing to the moral standing of many in the faith? Have many people in Latin America been affected by the church's crimes? (the article mostly mentions how the US is seeking to bring the Pope to trial). But pretty much all areas where Catholosism is the main religion, there has been accusations. What in the religion would allow for this? Is this a massive cover-up? Is nothing Holy???
