OH WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DIFFERENCE MAKES: GENDER IN THE VISUAL ARTS - 1 views

  • Although Renoir is not known for his enlightened attitude toward women, he painted one of the most gorgeous paintings of a mother with her son and daughter (the son is dressed like a girl).

  • I can feel it, too. Over the past few years I’ve had an uncomfortable sense that someone, or something, has been tinkering with my brain, remapping the neural circuitry, reprogramming the memory.

I just bookmarked CNET to my toolbar and my diigo account. I thought it'd be a great place to see what's going on in the tech world. What do yo think Honor?
  •
Yes, I've read a few articles about technology in education on CNET, although I don't subscribe to the site myself. I find the product reviews and gadgets info kind of overwhelming. But some of the edtech bloggers I follow highlight CNET's education-related coverage from time to time, so I end up going there by way of hyperlinks :)

By The Way, Ophelia Is Pregnant - 1 views

  • A reader writes in to remind me just how specific Gertrude is when she later describes Ophelia's suicide -- as if she saw it, but did nothing about it. That would make perfect sense if Gertrude knew Ophelia's problem, and agreed that suicide was her only real option.
