  • These old stories, even if they are greatly embellished, usually hold clues so they are valuable to the researcher.
  • So there are two points to be made. 1) Record all of the old family stories as told to preserve them and 2) Don't be surprised if the stories aren't exactly the complete truth.

Thoughts from Polly's Granddaughter: Why the Elizabeth Warren Issue is Not About Her Race - 0 views

  • No one has said Elizabeth Warren can’t share the family stories she has heard, but some people do take issue with her abusing the system and claiming it in order to benefit her career or to help her employers meet diversity goals.
  • the United States Supreme Court confirmed that Native-American status was not a purely racial matter, but was derived from membership in a tribe recognized by the federal government.”

  • The definition for American Indian: American Indian or Alaska Native (Not Hispanic or Latino) - A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North and South America (including Central America), and who maintain tribal affiliation or community attachment.
  • She, along with her supporters, want to redefine who is entitled to claim the status of Native American, even if a person has no proof of American Indian ancestry.  This is an anti-sovereignty stance and this way of thinking is a danger to our sovereignty.
  • While she claims being Native American played such an important part in the lives of her and her family, they seem to have never had any association with real Indians.
  •
I hope my readers take the time to visit this site and become informed about the various "Indian Rights" issues involved in this year's Massachusetts Senate Race. We must all speak out against Ms. Warren even if we do not live in her state. If she gets elected her "I am an Indian" virus will very likely infect our highest level of government. It really is time to stop people from using the "minority" card when they have no right to claim it.

Thoughts from Polly's Granddaughter: Elizabeth Warren's Act of Colonization - 0 views

  • What Elizabeth Warren has done is an act of colonization. She has usurped Indigenous identity, just as her ancestors stole the land and resources. It's a hostile act of genocide and it is not okay.
  •
I seldom get involved in politics - but I really think this is an important issue.
