Each film in the 'Famous Moments' series highlights a true story of historical significance, providing 'students' of early America with a better understanding of the people, places and events of this important era. Of added interest for viewers, each film tells its story using scenes and portraits from the Early American Digital Library. Many of the images are primary source documents - engravings, woodcuts and drawings that date back to the early to mid-1800s.

C-Span has uploaded virtually all of its video archives to the Internet. The archives, at C-SpanVideo.org, cover 23 years of history and five presidential administrations.

The Library of Congress has uploaded a rare collection of almost 700 Civil War photographs to Flickr and needs your help identifying them. Among the rarest images are African Americans in uniform, sailors, a Lincoln campaign button, and portraits with families.

This is what the ancient to contemporary peoples would have created if facebook had existed back in the day, and if large groups of people ever got together to create online pages. This was a project, but is now a tool. We the AP World History students and teacher of Burlington High School invite history dorks everywhere to see the connections, explore the relationships, and enjoy the patterns that exist in history.

This website connects stories in Philadelphia's neighborhoods interactively via maps through personal accounts, videos and photographs.

This would work well for giving students something to think about with all of the expected debate this election season.

Webspiration is online mindmapping from the creators of Inspiration. Many of the same features as the for-purchase Inspiration and completely free. Includes plenty of templates and you can download mindmap as Inspiration or Word file. Key feature is collaborative editing; simply invite a colleague/student via email and you can collaborative form anywhere with an Internet connection. You can post mindmap on a web page, too.
