There are varied cultures and religions abiding in India. The country is an amalgamation of different traditions, customs, castes and sub-castes. The country is linguistically and religiously based. Rakhi, is also known as Raksha Bandhan and it is commemorated for the special bond that lingers between a brother and sister. This relationship has been celebrated since ages and the occasion comes once a year. The date of Rakhi is not fixed; it is calculated as per Sharvan month's second festival as per the Hindu calendar. A Rakhi, or protective thread is tied on the wrist of the brother by the sister. The thread indicates brother's promise of protecting his sister in every possible manner, thus it is called Raksha (protection) Bandhan (bond)

Christmas gifts have to be decided upon early, as the festival nears all the good gifts are out of stock. So you need to plan at least two weeks before and purchase the gifts a week before the holiday season
