Very interesting indeed. i have always thought that students are more reflective when they post their responses online than when we are having F2F discussions in the classroom. And now it's supported by surveys. in the end it's true though that even if online courses require more self-motivation and time-management skills, student engagement still relies a lot on how the instructor manages the online classroom. Thanks for posting!
Otter processes your audio or video files - in real time or after they are created - and generates a text file with a transcript. it automatically recognizes and designates different speakers, and allows you to give them names before downloading the text file. The fee tier gives 600 minutes of transcription per month. i am uploading my lecture videos after they are generated, and posting the transcriptions in my LMS for students.
This is of course a topic that is on every ones mind these days. i especially found this interesting since being in the heating and air conditioning field we have to take every caution because you don't know if the person you are providing service to is infected.
Even as today's college student experiences a variety of classroom forms (i.e., "brick and mortar", virtual, hybrid), social media's use and influence are evolving depending on context. Widely embraced as a tool for personal or business purposes, the notion that social media could be an effective tool for educational purposes has received recent attention. #TT1711
"An instructor's 'digital' personality can influence student achievement, retention or completion, and satisfaction with courses..." i couldn't agree more as this has been my experience!

Online tools and resources have made it easier for teachers to instruct students, and for students to collaborate with those teachers and with other students and parents. These "Web 2.0" teaching tools aren't magical, but they may seem to defy definition at times since they save time, help you to stay organized, and often take up little space on a computer.
Yes, there are a ton of great ed-tech tools out there, but which ones should you be adopting for your classroom? This article gave me some great ideas.
Addresses the popular conception of learning styles and the lack of empirical support for teaching to students' styles. Touches on the role of metacognition in learning. The references constitute a short list of key readings on the topic.
Educators may feel sometimes like they're on an island with little help in sight. But as technology teaching resources go, it may encourage you to learn that there are a number of online solutions available to help promote education from teaching reading basics to organizing classroom activities and encouraging civic involvement.

This looks like a really interesting article, but i agree with your post above: we are inundated with so much information (most of it useless) that finding time to look through all of it is just daunting.

Debut Video Recorder provides a great tool if you want to record video or capture an image on your screen. i used it to record student speeches before my college installed cameras in our speech classrooms. it can be saved to a flash drive and does not have to be installed on your computer the way most programs do.
