Interesting what can be done now, and the potential.

#TT1921 - I got a better insight into synchronous interaction though this article. I think it is worth reading. Synchronous learning refers to a learning event in which a group of students are engaging in learning at the same time. Before learning, technology allowed for synchronous learning environments, most online education took place through asynchronous learning methods. Since synchronous tools that can be used for education have become available, many people are turning to them as a way to help decrease the challenges associated with distance that occurs in online education.

I agree that as we continue, learning will become more interactive, using all types of tech tools to enable students not only to learn in the classroom, but as online learners also.

Students are on top of texting and it's great to communicate with them, but giving out ones cell phone number isn't the best idea. This app solves the problem, text go out, but your number stays hidden.

I was intrigued with this question, which I have tweaked a bit - "How can we as educators make the best use of Twitter or Diigo to help connect our students with amazing, inspiring personalities in the various fields we teach"?. Please, I will be interested in any response or comment on this?

@chreych I am always curious about this. Since twitter is free, if they do not have an account - can't we ask them to create one for use in the classroom?

This is a great music theory tutor/reference/resource. I recommend it to all of my colleagues, as well as my students. Using the site is free.

Check out Kahoot! It is a great way to use technology in a F2F classroom. It is an interactive quiz that promotes student engagement as well as checks students' understanding.

Many regard Twitter as quite a useless social media sharing portal. Some have this negative opinion, mainly because of the fact Twitter allows you to "tweet" or post only 140 characters in length. This length equals the text of a regular SMS, and for some this is simply not enough.

I found a good list of how one teacher uses Twitter in the classroom. Personally, I love the idea of a hashtag for a specific class.
