We'll be updating this page regularly. Please check back for updates. Call it the year of the mega-class. Colleges and professors have rushed to try a new form of online teaching known as MOOCs-short for "massive open online courses." The courses raise questions about the future of teaching, the value of a degree, and the effect technology will have on how colleges operate.

Interesting read - I found the shift from taped lecture to a more interactive setting interesting... "Udacity, along with other MOOC designers, is moving rapidly away from the video lecture model of teaching toward an approach that is highly interactive and based on frequent quizzes and human "mentors" to provide active online support for students."

Adobe offers a number of free courses that can help you learn tech tools. Some of the courses are self-paced and others are collaborative. Occasionally they have an extensive Train the Trainer course. When I took it in 2016, it was an 8 week course with an additional 20 days tacked on to the end to finish course requirements. I liked the focus on the importance of creativity in education and best practices in adult learning theory. It is the closet thing to a MOOC that I have taken. If you take it, pay close attention to how to track your posts...the platform makes it a little difficult to go back and look at the responses to your posts when you did not initiate the first post.
