Really has some nice information on tools available for online teaching.

Hi Kathy, good solid article and my favorite part related to one of the pod casts that we were assigned for Module 4 this week in our TT class. DeMarias says that the synchronous on line class should not be a literal translation of the f2f and she suggests the same concept as this article: a reconceptualization of the course all together. My least favorite part of the article was that we are developing "digital citizens of tomorrow". I totally agree but the sound of it is so robotic. :)

I know many people use Google Docs for collaborative writing - I used to use Google Docs all the time as well, but OneNote Online is my new favorite! It has a book-like layout and you can create several tabs for different groups so everyone has their own space (their own page in a tab), which is less confusing than Google Docs.

I'm looking into ways to use Twitter together with other applications like Feedly to encourage students to become autonomous learners and get more input from authentic francophone listening and reading sources. This is a new favorite tool for gathering feedback from a group. Feedback is gathered as free-text and compiled into a word cloud. Since the survey can be left open for up to 1-2 weeks, this would work well as either a synchronous session tool or an asynchronous tool.
