Web 2.0 and Emerging Learning Technologies/Web 2.0 Learning Styles describes how technology Web 2.0 tools are used to enhance students learning. Furthermore, Howard Gardner's learning styles are discusses as well and his theory of Multiple Intelligence. Finally, the main characteristics of the Web 2.0 learners are summarized. In addition to theories of multiple intelligences and learning styles there are issues related to learner personalities. The widely accepted traditional model of education too often fails to consider all these areas. Free interactive website for music students who wish to learn and then test their knowledge of music theory; also has specific exercises for students learning keyboard and various fretted string instruments. The webpage also features various interactive tools and calculators, and printables (e.g. staff paper). What makes it useful for teachers is the ability to customize exercises in great detail. The site then produces permanent links to these exercises that you send to students. To make it even better, students can submit reports with results of their drills. Great for mastery learning approach. They also make paid iOS apps, Tenuto and Theory Lessons

Author writes about some of the same reasons we're learning to use these tools in the online environment; however, the use of Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory as support for why these tools should be used is unusual.

This paper addresses the faculty's awareness of the benefits of Web 2.0 to supplement in-class learning and assess faculty's decisions to adopt these tools using the decomposed theory of planned behavior. In my experience, all assignments in our courses are taught and completed in computer labs, we are supposed to attend several hours or more of professional development, teaching assistants and faculty are encouraged to pursue a certificate in teaching with technology, and in addition, more experienced teaching assistants routinely share their knowledge and experience in working with different types of technology with their colleagues who are just starting. The attitude of faculty and their perceived behavioral control are the main concern to their intention to use the technology tools.

Abstract In something of a landmark for education Knowles (1970) suggested an important change in the way in which educational experiences for adults should be designed. The approach, known as andragogy, contrasts quite sharply with pedagogy which is the teaching of children. This paper suggests there is benefit in moving from andragogy towards truly self-determined learning. The concept of truly self-determined learning, called heutagogy, builds on humanistic theory and approaches to learning described in the 1950s. It is suggested that heutagogy is appropriate to the needs of learners in the twenty-first century, particularly in the development of individual capability. My students actually love this. One of the assignments they have in my composition class is to "teach" a grammar topic they have been assigned. They are required to make a presentation and an assessment. Many of them choose to do Kahoot!

This blog designed and maintained by Prof. Steve Wheeler, offers some of the best insights on learning with and through technology, whilst combining research, theories and the practices of teaching and learning.

Adobe offers a number of free courses that can help you learn tech tools. Some of the courses are self-paced and others are collaborative. Occasionally they have an extensive Train the Trainer course. When I took it in 2016, it was an 8 week course with an additional 20 days tacked on to the end to finish course requirements. I liked the focus on the importance of creativity in education and best practices in adult learning theory. It is the closet thing to a MOOC that I have taken. If you take it, pay close attention to how to track your posts...the platform makes it a little difficult to go back and look at the responses to your posts when you did not initiate the first post.
