  A few years ago I routinely began each term in my comp class with the process of students setting up blogs. I talked at length about meaningful prose in a forum that provides a podium for your voice. I'm not sure I handled it right, as the blogs often lacked depth and originality. I'd be interested in pedagogical approaches to blog writing.

  I think blogs are better suited for many of our needs than micro-blogging platforms, which seem to have more staying power for reasons I don't quite understand.
