While many listeners outside of Iceland may not understand a single lyric, make no mistake, they do speak the universal language of awesome rock music. They have a distinct Icelandic sound, but are similar to the Iceland band, The Sugarcubes and Bjork with an alternative rock kick.

Tangent Transmission is not the typical Los Angeles rock band. In fact, they give a whole new definition to the meaning of rock. In the Cinema brings an artful sound never heard before. Not to mention, their unique music style is nearly impossible to compare with other artists. This sort of quality is what most artists strive to achieve. Many artists accomplish this task, but they do not produce the kind of quality music that people enjoy over and over. Where other artists have failed, the brother duo, Ryan and Joe Hughes have succeeded by doing what others only dream of. Ryan and Joe have taken the traditional art of folk music, combined it with modern rock and tied it with an electronica sensibility to create, In the Cinema. \n\nListen to music from their 2010 debut album, For the Struggle with a special appearance by the band, here at: http://thegreatunknowns.podomatic.com/entry/2010-07-16T08_34_02-07_00\n\nRead an exclusive interview with Ryan and Joe at: http://greatunknownsmusicexpose.blogspot.com/2010/07/interview-with-in-cinema-cinematic.html \n
discover, listen and buy music discussed on the best mp3 blogs

The Hype Machine is an audio blog aggregator that tracks songs posted to the best/most popular music blogs on the internet.

Aside from a slew of great music discovery features, one really cool feature is the integrated podcasting. Search for a favorite artist, click the big podcast button, and any time new music by that artist gets indexed by the Hype Machine, you'll automatically get it in your podcast subscription.
It also offers a music "locker" service that allows you to upload your music then listen to it from any computer with an Internet connection...but it only works with MP3 files, so you're out of luck if you've been using (for example) iTunes to rip your CD
Hailing from the very heart of hip-hop culture (Ann Arbor, Michigan) Tadd Mullinix aka Dabrye is back on the shelves at your local record store (if you are lucky enough to still have one) with his third full-length release Two/Three. The enigmatic and fractional title is the follow up to his 2001 debut One/Three and 2002 sophomore release Instrmntl. Mullinix, who is quite the busy beaver, also makes house, techno, and industrial music under other monikers. So it's not surprising that his brand of hip-hop is a little bit left of center. A Dabrye album is as likely to feature white noise, sawbuzz analog synths, and found sounds, as its title is to include numbers or consonants, it seems.
Create music online using guitar, drum, bass and piano loops à la GarageBand with JamStudio. Each instrument comes with an impressive collection of loops, and you can build your song-adding instruments and loops-in (almost) any way you want, then save the results. JamStudio isn't for the professional musician by any means, but if you've ever wanted to toy around with music and loops without paying a dime, JamStudio is a good place to start.
Listen to your iTunes library from any web browser using Anywhere.FM, a slick webapp that hosts and streams your music with its web-based player. The Anywhere.FM beta is almost too good to be true right now, with free unlimited uploads and listens (but the service may charge in the future). Download a free Anywhere.FM iTunes uploader application that will detect your library and upload all your songs to Anywhere.FM for you.
mp3 files and listen to them on your 'puter or iPhone with SeeqPod, an intriguing search engine that looks only for media files on the Web. (Yes, even David Hasselhoff music is fair game.)
This is a really interesting service. You can find specific artists and listen to them play as you surf, share music with friends, even embed the tunes in your Web site or blog. My favorite feature so far? The "Discovery" button: listen to a cornucopia of the most recently discovered music that SeeqPod has found on the Web.
Joel Simpson is this weeks spotlight not only for his ability to sing, but for his unique talent. He brings to music a combination of Folk, Rock, and Christian Rock into one without making the listener feel like he is preaching too heavily.
