Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor, Allan Sutherland, has announced the three local bands to represent the Moreton Bay region at this year's Splendour in the Grass.

This year's stellar line-up, in addition to LCD Soundsystem and Belle & Sebastian (making their first Bay Area appearance in four years!), is a who's who of the dance/electronic and indie rock worlds, including The National, Broken Social Scene, She & Him, Deadmau5, Kruder & Dorfmeister (live) (with one of their first U.S. performances since 2001), Miike Snow, !!!, Superchunk, Surfer Blood, Die Antwoord, Little Dragon, Four Tet, Rogue Wave, Ra Ra Riot, Monotonix, Phantogram, The Sea & Cake, Phosphorescent, Holy Fuck, Jamaica, Wallpaper, Papercuts, Maus Haus and The Mumlers.

ZEN MECHANICS is the Psychedelic Trance outfit of Wouter Thomassen, born and raised in Holland, but currently dividing residency between the lush subtropical Byron Bay, Australia and his homeland. Coming from a family of musicians, Wouter's been deeply involved in music since his early childhood. Drawing from his 12 year experience as a DJ he formed Zen Mechanics around 2003 and started working on a style that fuses elements of Progressive, Full-on, Ambient & Breaks into a powerful and groove-driven sound brimming with vibe and atmosphere and tailor made for the big open air dancefloors.
