"If you want to be a successful singer then you need to have a good demo and a good voice. Your voice can be in any style as long as it sounds good. It has to be your style. All professional singers have their own unique style of singing. You can always tell who is singing a song and say, that's Celine Dion, that's Beyonce, that's Justin Timberlake. If you love to sing and want to sing professionally then you'll always be looking for new songs to sing. You'll find cover songs you want to sing and if you like songwriting you'll start to write your own songs as well. You may be able to play an instrument like the piano or guitar or look for musicians and music producers to help you write. And you might want to find original songs from up and coming songwriters, which you can use as your demos or to try and get a record deal with."

We are at the mid-point of the year and we are tracking the top 20 most selling albums of 2013. Nielson SoundScan has been doing this top 20 countdown for 22 years now and they recently released the top 20 chart for the besting selling albums in the first half of the year.

The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards is just around the corner and now fans can vote for their favorite artist. VMA voting is now open for all fans! So, who is leading the star-studded line-up? Both Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead VMA nominations with (6) total nominations each.

Have you had the chance to watch Justin Timberlake's new video, "Tunnel Vision?" More then likely, you haven't. The new explicit video made its debut on July 3rd and was immediately yanked by YouTube. It was banned because it violated the Google-owned site's policy on explicit content. However, the video was edited and labeled as "explicit." Now, the video is back on YouTube and everyone is talking.

The number one top charting song, "Blurred Lines," is back in the news again, all for the wrong reasons though. The hit song by Robin Thicke, T.I., and Pharrell, has been criticized since the video first came out. All three artist have took hits for the deemed "Sexist" music video. Now, critics are calling out the director of the music video, Diana Martel. Even with all the negative exposure, "Blurred Lines," holds the number one spot on the Billboard Top 100. The music video is questionable, but all the exposure has made the song a huge hit.
